Like many of the previous reviews I had my chairs for about 4 months before the plastic strip holding up the canopy disintegrated. Fortunately, a friend just bought the same chairs and was able to provide me with the manufacturer's customer service number (which I could not find online.) I called them up and told them what happened to the chairs and they offered to send me replacement chairs without question. I received the new chairs three days ago. I was really hoping they changed the material but it appears to be the same plastic stuff. Hopefully, the new ones will last longer. Great chair design but wouldn't recommend purchasing these chairs unless they make a change to those plastic strips. For those who need replacements... 1-800-328-6166. Good luck!

I purchased these very same Kelsyus Canopy Chairs from Sears 1 year ago, March 2009. They were used 5 or 6 times, then stored inside. I brought them out to discover the black plastic straps holding the canopy roof had literally crumbled and disintegrated. I called Sears "customer service", and because it has been a year, they would not assist me in replacement, and told me to contact Kelsyus. See photos here: [...]

After posting this review, I did contact Kelsius, and they replaced the chairs at no cost. The faulty roof straps were now made of canvas, with an inner reinforcement layer. Good move, since these support the weight of the chair when it's folded and carried. Thank you, Kelsius --- hope these chairs last longer then the originals!

I bought two of these chairs for the beach. The case converts to the canopy with zero setup or assembly!! Amazing product! Open the case and simply pull the chair upright! You can leave the canopy back or simply raise it forward. I could have sold a dozen of them on the beach! People stopped and asked me where I found the chair and some even wrote down the name. I demonstrated the chair at least four times a day while I was using it. My niece was with us at the beach and is going to order four of them next week! This chair enabled us to extend our beach time by hours. It has little utility pockets under the canopy and cup holders. The carry straps enable you to carry it on your back and free your hands for other items. Get this chair for yourself or loved ones. Why rent a covered chair when you can have this dream of a product!

I was looking for a new chair to use at my husband's baseball games that I attend every Sunday for 7 mos of the year. Because I am sitting for hours at a time and in very high temperatures, I wanted a chair that was not only comfortable, but hassle-free as well. I also wanted something with a sun shade or attachable umbrella so I could keep my hands free for applauding and cheering on the team. After researching all options, I finally decided on the Kelysus Canopy Chair and am so glad I did! Not only is the chair wide enough so it doesn't pinch the legs, but it came fully assembled! All I had to do was cut open the box it came in and it was ready to go. It's all enclosed like a backpack w/two buckles so you just strap it on and away you go. Note that this chair is made of steel, so it is a little heavier than an aluminum chair, but also more durable.

The canopy is amazing. You literally sit in the chair and lift it up over your head. It's sturdy to w/stand the wind and rain and keeps the sun and harmful rays off me. If you don't want or need to use the canopy, simply fold it back down. The canopy is tall enough so I am not constantly bending down to get out of it when needed. I have a small frame so I had my husband sit in it to see if it was wide & tall enough for him (he's 6' and weighs 210). Sure enough, he was able to get in/out w/no issue. The only thing that I would improve upon is adding another cup holder, but that is trivial. I like to keep my keys & cell phone in a cup holder, but the Kelysus thought of that and put in mesh pockets at the top of the canopy (on the inside) for small objects. The first day I brought it to the field, one of the guys on the baseball team decided to buy one for his mom who is at every game, too and give it to her for Mother's Day! It is a treat to use and I look forward to going to the games and enjoying myself to the fullest. Now, if only they'd make this chair in different colors .....

It is a great chair and highly recommended.

Overall, I'm happy with the chair and would recommend it. The sunshade is reasonable (it works best when the sun is directly overhead and not as well in the morning or afternoon). The best thing about the chair is how fast it is to setup & take down. The sunshade wraps around the chair as a holder and it contains built in should straps. The chair is fairly comfortable as well. The only issue is that it tends to become a bit of bucket seat which leaves a little more pressure on the backs of your legs near the knees.

These chairs don't breath very well.
You get very hot in them when the sun is shinning even if the wind is blowing
the canves is to thick doesn't let any air through

It was great when I first bought it, but shortly after, I experienced the exact same problem as a previous reviewer, the 5" plastic strips that attach the canopy to the frame completely shredded on both sides. Others have told me they had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM with their Kelsyus canopy chair. My advice is to stay away until they improve the design or materials used.

My kids' softball coach has this chair and I fell in love with it. I have tried so many ways to shade myself at the field and the beach but all the umbrellas blow away! This chair is sturdily made and the canopy is not going to blow away in the breeze.
I have had skin cancer and am ordering 2 of these chairs- they are the best!

I bought this chair in a store, and since then, it has been awesome!!! Everybody keeps asking me where I got it from! Very handy to have @ the beach or when tailgating. I have had no problems at all with this chair after owning itfor about 3 years now. Highly recommend this chair over it's competition, and you can not beat the price!!!

My wife purchased 2 of these chairs about 3 weeks ago. We used them to watch our boys at little league games. I have to say I really like the concept. However, the product is very poorly made. My wife's chair unraveled at the seams on the seat. The brackets on the chair I was using cracked and broke. We are both well under the weight limit for the chairs by at least 100 pounds so that wasn't a problem. If the company can fix the quality, this would be a great buy. Target refunded our money and we are now looking for a better chair.
