This is a great leash, particularly for a large dog. The rope is similar to what is used for rock climbing - it's thick, easy to handle and has just enough elasticity to prevent your shoulder from being ripped out of the socket if your 90 lab mix unexpectedly decides to bolt after a squirrel. The hand loop is comfortable and its easy to grab additional rope to pull your dog in closer. The grab handle near the sturdy metal clip also comes in handy when you want to keep your dog very close (and away from that other dog coming down the sidewalk). For a small dog, this leash is probably much heavier than necessary, but for a big dog it's hard to beat. Can get a little stinky but I believe it's washable. I just wish it came in more colors.
