We purchased this for a long weekend of walking around zoos and museums. Best thing we've bought so far. Our boy is big, 30lbs and only 14 months. My wife carried him around all day at the zoo in our kelty and she was as comfortable as he was..he...who fell asleep at the end of the trip in kelty. Great investment, so glad we bought it. Since it holds up to 50lbs, we'll be able to use it for months to come.

We had an older version of this pack; it was 5 years old but rarely used. One of the major support straps broke and we mailed it to Kelty. This version was mailed back to us, no cost, no hassle to us. Hard to get service like that anymore!

This is a great backpack carrier. It is safe, easy to use, and comfortable for the parent and the baby. Our son loves to go in it. He prefers this to the front pack carrier. It's great for both short and long hikes. Our only complaint is the hood does not provide adequate protection against the sun from the sides. It protects great from overhead sun, but otherwise you have to add sun protection on the sides. But I have not seen any of the packs that have this protection. Otherwise I would highly recommend it.

This product was well worth the money. We are in the military and have the pleasure of moving a lot. Right now we are living in Alaska which as you may imagine has many places to go hiking. My daughter absoultely loves riding in this carrier as she sits up high above your head and can see everything. She didnt really like the sun hood too much as it hinders sight but other than that we love it. It is a little bit hard to get your child up on to your back if you dont have another person there to help you. You have to set your kid on a picnic table or the ground and try to squirm in and then stand up which as your child gets heavier may be a challenge. (I have to do this often with heavy ruck sacks so I know the heavier the load the harder it is to get up!) Other than that this is a wonderful investment. There is storage in the bottom for a light blanket or jacket and some water and snacks and also a pocket on the back of the carrier. Would definately purchase this again!!

A great carrier overall, but not sure if it is worth the price. This is the first backpack-type carrier I've owned so I can't really compare it to any other rear-carrier. It's comfy and does a great job of transfering the weight evenly over the shoulders and hips, but the pull-out shoulder strap adjustment mechanism kept slipping out on me. Maybe I didn't adjust it properly or something. Anyway, I'm happy with it. Will probably purchase the sun/rain hood to go with it.

This is a great carrier. Lots of storage and comfortable fit for my 6'4" husband. We haven't used it very much but it seems sturdier than the other carrier we have (Chicco). Very happy with this purchase.

The backpack just arrived in the mail, so I have yet to try it out.

I want to make sure other buyers know that there is NOT a zip off removable "diaper bag" on this pack like it states in the item description. I was excited to have this option, thinking I could lower the weight of the backpack by not having the diaper bag on the pack. Cannot decide if I should return or not...

Also, the blue color that I recieved is not the same blue as in the picture. The picure shows a two toned dark and light blue pack, but what I got is more one colored, kind of a periwinkle blue.

This is such a great pack. I used it on vacation at the beach a few weeks ago. My daughter is 18 months old and weighs about 23 pounds. She fits easily in the pack. The pack is very secure for her. I also got the sun hood which only fits the 2.0 and 3.0 models. She didn't like it because it was fairly close to the top of her head. The pack secures to my trunk just like a hiking pack with a waist belt and a small belt at the chest. If you are a small person wearing this, your balance may be thrown off a little. I did have my wife left the pack off the ground so I could safely put the pack on once my daughter was in. The pack is secure on the ground as well and she was not able to tip the pack over or make it wobble. Overall this was a great purchase for my family and a lifesaver on vacation.

We have back packed all over the mountains with our 2 year old in this. Love it. Easy to adjust and holds a small amount of needed diapers or food. Comfortable.

We take our daughter everywhere in this, the stroller has become a cat bed! It's really comfortable to carry her no matter how long we walk. It's great for hiking, walking the dog and trips to the zoo! It also has a lot of storage pockets that are really handy. This carrier is just great!
