Product Description

Big trips, big volume, Big Bend. The cavernous 90-liter volume of the Kelty Big Bend will consume just about anything you'd care to throw into it sleeping bags, tents, bear canisters, and maybe even your child when they get tired of walking. (Disclaimer: GearX does not endorse this practice and recommends that you only use a child carrier approved by relevant consumer safety authorities). Access from the top, front, and sides makes it easy to get all that stuff out once you've piled it in.

Just what I wanted. Just what I expected from a top rated namebrand pack. Excellent.!. I made alterations... Some allow me to attach wheels and a handle/belt to tow off-road this near 100 pound pack behind me. I have the ability to quickly strap it to my back. Lots of attachments and all over the top, bottom, sides, and back. Great pack for your BoB.
Responsible seller, fast shipping. Good price.

I bought this back pack for a weekend winter hiking trip in the Porkiepine mountains of Upper Michigan. We had to carry in all of our supplies, and this back pack did that wonderfully. The outer pockets on the sides are adequete, but could have used a pocket on the backside of the pack. I also wish that the top compartment came of to use as a day pack.
Overall this is a very well built pack and I hope to get many years of service out of her.
I really like the separate sleeping bag compartment, and easy access to the inside of the pack from the back zipper access.
It fits verywell, and I was able to carry 45lbs in the pack with ease, and no back fatigue at all. I would think I could easily put 60lbs in this pack and it would be no problem.

The waist buckle broke the first time I used it. Other wise It worked fine. Wish it came with the water pack.

Purchased this for a weekend backpacking trip up at Big Bear, California. Even though it was late September and nearly 100 degrees in the valley, the temperature hovered around 75 during the day and nearly 40-45 at night. The high variation in temperature coupled with the need to pack food for several fellow campers required a pack with a carry capacity of 70L+.

This backpack works. Discovered that 90L packs (for middle aged campers) can be a balancing challenge. My biggest gripe is the lack of external pouches. Had a bunch of basic items that went into the main compartment because of the lack of pouches. The top pouch is spacious but overstuffing (and it is big enough to overstuff) makes it unexpectedly top heavy. While it didn't rain (whew!), the pack did not come with a rain poncho and it would have become waterlogged (or unbearably wet) in short order had it rained. Don't buy a separate rain poncho. Just use a lawn plastic bag.

I also purchased extra straps and carbiners to secure the tent poles, sleeping mat and tent. Remember to pack the heaviest items closest to your waist or you will topple over in short order. Finally, don't spin quickly around. The lack of pouches meant that I had externally affixed quick release pouches to the mounting points. This resulted in swinging pouches that nearly threw me off balance.

Happy Camping!
