About the Author

Carlos Ramet is an Associate Professor of English at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan. Born in England, he earned a degree in film production from the University of Southern California, holds a Master's degree from San Francisco State University, and completed his Ph.D. in English at the University of Illinois-Chicago. His critical articles and fiction have appeared in such journals as Clues: A Journal of Detection, The Michigan Academician, The Critic, Perigraph, Studies in Popular Culture and The Popular Culture Review. He is the author of the short story "Shadow Love," which was a finalist in the 1994 CRITIC short story contest.
