I was very happy when this book arrived. I was expecting a book with dated information, strictly for collectors but to my pleasant surprise this book is actually succinct and essential reading for Ken Russell fans and film students. Yes, it stops right before Valentino but the author gives you extensive background on Ken's Golden Age. The photos are beautiful including unseen still from the now banned "Dance of the Seven Veils". Between A British Picture, Fire Over England, Phallic Frenzy Directing Film and Ken Russell "Adaptor as Creator" Ken has some of thee best film history books ever written linked to his work. Few can match him in print or on the screen. Highly recommended!
