hi all, KEN-TOOL makes a special set of irons for the 19.5 series rims cause they are extra hard to mount/demount ! go to the ken-tool site to get info on them.

It is hard to believe that a simple tool will get so much done and easy and with very little investment.

May Not Work With All Rims,

I've just spent two hours and I'm still working on my second tire. I'm installing some 19.5 in. tires and I suspect the .5 series tires are the problem as they have a much heavier side wall. If you are going to be mounting similar tires by hand you might check into this. But for now I'm sitting in a pool of sweat and thinking I'm an idiot. Now with regards to the tools themselves they are well made and the tips have good detents that hold on to the tire rim. The brass bead holding device actually works quite well. I was able to get the first tire demounted and mounted with some difficulty but the second second bead on the second tire would not slide off. Ken-Tool has a couple videos which you can watch on U-tube.It's also possible that there are manufacturing variations in the tire and rim and my troubles have nothing to do with the tool. But, I suspect it is the .5 tire series tires and that Ken-Tool should have warned about trouble with heavy wall tires. Otherwise I'd give these irons a five star. For completeness I was trying to install 225-70R-19.5 tires on rims that have a large offset for duals (Ford F600).
