Not Quite as Terrible as Warren's other books,
This review is from: Ken Warren Teaches Texas Hold'em, Volume 2 (Paperback)
It pains me to give this book 2 stars.
It really does. I don't think any book by Warren should get more than 1 star...but this one probably deserves 2. Before reading this book, I read through most of "Winner's Guide to Texas Hold Em" Winner's Guide to Texas Hold'em{you can go read my long review there...it is listed under the 1-star reviews). That book is horrific, and so it made it hard to take much of anything Warren said here seriously. Still, this book is not quite as bad as that other one, and if you are already an experienced limit player looking to plug minor leaks, this book might give you some food for thought. For anyone else, though, that is the VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE...there is simply no reason to subject yourself to this. There are far, far, far better books out there. If you want to learn to play limit hold em, you should immediately by Sklansky's "Small Stakes Hold 'em" Book or one of his other hold 'em books. If you are interested in no limit play, he has a book on that as well [No Limit, theory and practice] or you can read Harrington's very well regarded series. |
