Perfect for sandy trails,

Good bite in Florida sandy triails. Heavier than the nevegal but worth the trade in loose conditions. A bit on the pricey side.. Should be closer to the nevegal in overall price. I am happy with these, perfect for Santos, Snow Hill and New Smyrna which all have sand traps.

I have used this tire on the rear for about a month now and am impressed with it. It is certainly the best rear tire I have tried to date (and I've tried a mess of them). The most startling quality is the climbing traction. I've used it on slick rock, sandy soil, mud and loose rock and continue to be surprised when I don't have to bail when the rear tire spins out - makes me smile every time. The worst traction is over wet roots and I don't know of anything short of a studded tire which will work there. The cornering is smooth and predictable with nice transition into and out of the corners. I did find that the recommended low pressure of 40 psi is required if you don't like patching tubes on rocky trails. This is higher than I have run on similar XC tires but I didn't find that it caused bouncing or harsh ride with the Kenda Excavator. I recommend it!
