A fun an inventive story of magical worlds in which doors speak riddles and gardens contain books,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers (Chronicles of Kendra Kandlestar, Book 1) (Hardcover)
Kendra Kandlestar And The Box Of Whispers by Lee Edward Fodi is a fun an inventive story of magical worlds in which doors speak riddles and gardens contain books. As a perfect introduction or addition to any child's fantasy collection, Kendra Kandlestar And The Box Of Whispers enriches and engages the minds of its readers, creating a completely different style of magical realm in which its readers are inevitably swept away to. Kendra Kandlestar And The Box Of Whispers is very strongly recommended to all children already fans of the fantasy literature and would make a popular addition to both school and community library collections as well.

Shh...Can you hear the Whispers?,
By Crystal (Kelowna, BC Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers (Chronicles of Kendra Kandlestar, Book 1) (Paperback)
For over a thousand years, the Box of Whispers has guarded the most precious treasure in the Land of Een...this is the tantalizing line that opens the copy on the back of this book, promising all sorts of adventure. Well, this book delivers! It simply bursts with memorable characters, like grumpy old Uncle Griffinskitch, sharp-tongued Captain Jinx, and brave little Kendra herself, armed with her handful of enchanted carrot seeds. This book is simply filled with charm, and its whimsy and bold and inviting illustrations remind me of the Oz books I read as a child. I'm so pleased with this story--and I think you will be too!

I like the box of whispers,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers (Chronicles of Kendra Kandlestar, Book 1) (Paperback)
I really liked the part about the magical box of whispers. If my secrets were stolen I would definitely go in the dark woods to get them back. I liked the idea of the smallest animal, the grasshopper being the strongest of the bunch. The grasshopper has all the weapons like spears and bow and arrows.

Read this book!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers (Chronicles of Kendra Kandlestar, Book 1) (Paperback)
I like the little girl Kendra Kandlestar. She is my favourite person. My favourite part was when she saved the troll from falling off the cliff by throwing seeds down and chanting the magic spell and the carrot grew really tall and helped him.

Fantastic characters are in this book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers (Chronicles of Kendra Kandlestar, Book 1) (Hardcover)
My favourite character is Uncle Griffinskitch because he seems so mysterious and smart. I really like the way the Troooguls look because they are ugly, but fascinating. I think Captain Jinx is really creative because you would never think a grasshopper would be tough and strong, but she is.

Dear Mr. Fodi, I have just finished reading your book Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers. What gave you the idea in the first place to create the tiny little simple world unseen by any living critters but the Eens themselves along with animals such as a raccoon, or a rabbit? I'm wondering if you're creating a story right now because your stories are terrific, amazing and heroic?

This review is from: Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers (Chronicles of Kendra Kandlestar, Book 1) (Paperback)
I love the variation of mythical and magical creatures.
It's funny and full of suprises every step of the way, just like Artemis Fowl but better.
