Not Good But Not Bad...,

This review is from: Kenko 420-800mm Telephoto Zoom Lens with 2x Teleconverter (=420-1600mm) for Canon EOS 7D, 5D, 60D, 50D, Rebel T3, T3i, T2i, T1i, XS Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics)
I bought this lens because I was looking for something a little longer than my 300mm. I wanted to try and get some pictures of wildlife and maybe aircraft. It's not a bad lens for that but there seems to be some aberation if there is alot of light. The good: The price. This is not a bad price for this lens. The length. Gives a pretty decent focal range, so you might actually be able to get some wildlife. The bad: It's a pretty bulky lens, especially when it is fully extended. You can't use auto-focus or auto-exposure with this lens. It's a pretty good lens for the price. I got some pretty good shots of the moon and some of the wildlife around the park. It has a fixed aperature and F8 to f16 (depending on length) at that, so you are pretty much forced to use the tripod. I'm not sure on some of the lens, but I did notice some distortion in certain lights.

Good lens,

For the price, you can't beat it. It's a decent lens. It's definately not great, but for someone who's not taking professional phoographs it does it's job. I'd say it was worth the money.

This telephoto is excellent! However, I must put it on a tripod to get a good shot.

I purchased this lens as a gift to my grand daughter and have seen the pictures taken....She loves it, and I am certainly not sorry for buying it.It easily took pictures of the craters on the full moon at the length of 800mm .....1600 was almost too much LOL

Poor quality lens,

This lens is of extremely poor quality. I was looking for an affordable telephoto lens to photograph birds, and thought this was the answer. I used the lens for 1 day, then promptly returned it for refund. The lens is too heavy and unbalanced for the standard camera. The quality of the pictures taken with the lens are poor -- blurred and without the detail desired. I would not waste money on this lens.
