I was really disappointed with this. Like others, it is cream with black trim. I specifically ordered the darker one because the cream would have shown lots of wear from dirt, etc.

It had a strong odor - recommend letting it air out for several days. It was almost overpowering when opening the package.

However, I thought I would give it a try nonetheless. I didn't find it was substantial enough for my shoes. For the record, I wear primarily 3-4 inch heels and a good portion of them are platforms, so they are a bit heavier. I cannot imagine it would be good for men's shoes either - since they are larger and heavier.

The velcro was sturdy. My closet is constructed of the coated metal layout - had concerns about the velcro not fitting/working around a non-round bar but it attached perfectly fine.

It didn't work for my needs, but perhaps my feedback will help you determine if it will work for you.

I bought two and am glad I got these. The compartments are big enough for any pair of my (men's)size 12 shoes. The bottom of each compartment is reinforced well enough and it seems sturdily built. I'm using one for shoes and the other for sweaters. It's exactly what I wanted and needed to empty the floor of my closet so I can walk in freely, and get the shelves uncluttered. I'd recommend them.

It is sturdy and it is roomy. If you are a shoe freak and would like to keep your shoes organized this will not fail you. The slots are so huge I placed my heels straight up. I did not have to place them side by side which is awesome.

I needed something to organize all my shoes. This Organizer was just what I was looking for. It fits right over the rod in my closet and holds many pair of shoes and keeps my closet nice and neat. I don't have very many shoes right now, but there are plenty of spaces left for me to fill up!!

I haven't had any problems with it. I think its great and it can hold different types of shoes as well as purses!

I too received the wrong color, navy, not cream and black, but this is still the best shoe organizer I have owned. It is sturdy both in the cubbies for the shoes and on the hanger portion that attaches to the rail of your closet. I don't mind about the color so much, but deducted the star simply because I did not receive exactly what was described.

I have just received the item. Based on others review, I was going to give it a try. The photo is black, but I received a cream color instead! Other then the mix up, the material was fine, and seem in good quality. I had to give it away due to the color issue, but we will have to see if it will be able to hold all the items once it's filled.

The hanging shelf is great. It looks wide, which it is, but it doesn't take up a lot of space in the closet. And the pockets are very deep. So you can fit 2 or 3 pairs of flats in each slot. One pair of pumps in each slot. I can definitely see it being great for bags as well, but I have too many shoes, so there aren't any extra slots for the bags. : )

Wish it had a cover up plastic with a zipper on the front to keep dust away the shoes.

This thing is perfect! I wish it came in different colors, but the photo posted is accurate. It's black with cream piping. It does have a bad plastic smell like other people have said. I took it out of the plastic and left it out overnight and the smell was gone. It holds my shoes well and even holds my crocs!
