After looking at many other similar products at much higher prices, I purchased this product at my local WalMart for $14.00, not expecting too much. It took about 20 minutes to install in my 2002 Ford Explorer. The trombone style adjustable sliders attach to the vertical supports with a two piece plastic clamp system that include large, easy to turn knobs (these will probably be chewed off in short order). The pressure fit vertical bars are provided with with large rubber feet that adequately protect your interior. The overall design is simple, and efficient, but not what I would call Heavy-Duty. A large, or very determined dog could bend the hollow aluminum bars pretty easily.
The only complaint I have would be this thing rattles like crazy. So I took it apart and insulated the trombone style sliders with a few rounds of black electrical tape and that took care of the problem.
Overall, I am pretty satisfied and if it lasts a year, then I have my money's worth.

I ordered this & received it on March 18th. The first opportunity I had to use it was in April. The very first time I used it, it fell down in my SUV (after I had made sure it was tight & secure), when I went to put it back up I noticed that a piece of the plastic (where you tighten the appliance with plastic knobs) had snapped off. Still determined I placed the barrier back up & continued driving. However, when I took the appliance out of my vehicle the next day I found that it was cracking on yet another plastic hinge. Now keep in mind, my dogs had not "climbed" on it or disrupted it in any way & the only thing that had happened was it fell down in my car.

So on April 19th (1 day after my 30 days had expired) I decided to contact Unbeatable Sale Inc. to return this item, due to the poorly made construction & how quickly it self destructed, only to find that they were closed for 2 days for Passover. I left a message & was sent a return label noting that I would be allowed to return this item past the 30 days this 1 & only time & I would be charged a 25% restocking fee (on an item that can't be "restocked" due to it is BROKEN!!!). I called the company again & (after being on hold for 15 minutes) was rudely informed that they "understand (they) were closed for 2 days, but I had 28 previous days to return the item that I did not". Apparently I was supposed to have ESP & know that it would fall apart the minute you actually have to drive with this appliance in your vehicle.

Needless to say, I will be returning this item & have to pay the 25% restocking fee for an item that clearly this company doesn't back up. I would not order from this company ever again due to the fact that they do not stand behind their products, nor do they offer any type of adequate (or polite) customer service in remedying the situation.

When I saw this item I was really excited about it. I walk my dogs on the weekends and I could keep my 2 year old, 95 pound black lab in the back of my SUV and my 11 year old chocolate lab by herself in the back seat area. However, This Pet barrier takes me about a half hour to put back in place on the weekends when I use it for my dogs. Taking it down is quicker. The steel rods fall out from the bottom, wing nuts don't help to keep rods in place, the black rubber protector caps have smudged the roof liner of my SUV- nice. Too much trouble to send back - repacking and mailing not an option.
