This item was ordered as a gift for my wife, and she was thrilled when she was able to open it on Christmas. All of the pieces were there, save for the original ink pens. She chose to use some fine point gel pens as replacements.

After a small learning curve, my wife was able to create some fun and intricate designs as she did when she was a kid. She uses them as part of her growing art supply collection, and she enjoys having them available.

This particular kit uses a small plastic piece to hold the Spirograph frames in place while you create the designs. The downside is that the plastic piece must punch the paper you are using in order to hold the frame steady. With practice, one can hold the frame with one hand while manipulating the design gear, but it is easier to punch holes in the paper and use the frame.

All in all, this was a great purchase - they are hard to find in complete condition, as most seem to be missing the smaller design gears. I highly recommend a vintage Spirograph set over the newer ones as they don't have the variety of wheels and designs available, and the newer sets are even harder to use in some cases.
