4.0 out of 5 stars It's worth the money
I like this coat for the price. it looks nice and feels nice. it doesn't fit AMAZINGLY but what would you expect for a hundred bucks? it does fit well though. definitely looks better than it costs! I recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars The buttons are nice..., November 28, 2007
This is my first review on Amazon. I felt compelled to write a review of this pea coat. I was first drawn to the name, thinking it may be a worthwhile purchase, and the pictures of the jacket made it look like a good value. For the most part I like the coat, however, there are a few flaws. First is the fit and finish of the coat. For instance, where the sleeve meets the shoulder, the seam sticks out a bit upwards (you can actually see it in the picture of the black coat on the man's right shoulder). This gives the coat an awkard look that doesn't work very well. I would have preferred a more rounded off look. Added to this, the coat has shoulder pads (I'm probably going to remove them). This adds to the awkwardness of the look. I have broad shoulders, and the added padding makes it look a bit too early nineties. This is especially true if you're just wearing a shirt underneath. The look of the coat improves a great deal when you wear a sweater underneath it to fill in the jacket. The coat could be a little more tapered in the chest as well, to reduce the bulk in the middle. I would not recommend this coat for a smaller person, or someone who doesn't have broader shoulders.

Otherwise, I like the coat. It is warm and does look good as a bundled up look (e.g. with a sweater and possible a scarf).

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masculine Elegance, December 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this jacket as a Christmas present for a brother reluctantly entering the professional world. He is not the "pea coat" kind of guy, but that is what is so wonderful about this coat- it can look professional, yet stylish, without the stigma of a wool pea coat. (Personally I think men look great in them- but my brother has other ideas!) It has a quilted lining that is very comfy and warm, with wide, deep pockets on the side. The wool is incredibly soft. There is a great inside breast pocket that is essential for wallets and such. In all, this is an excellent gift for any man- even the one who wouldn't normally be a pea coat man!

5.0 out of 5 stars Coat review, December 31, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I ordered this coat as a Christmas present for my boyfriend who had been wanting a pea coat for a very long time. He had originally wanted one from a different vendor, but I disliked that one and had been doing my own pricing/comparing. I had always known that Kenneth Cole made wonderful items so when I saw this coat and for the price, I was ecstatic. Of course I was a little worried something might be wrong with it for only $100, but when I received it and was able to wrap it for my boyfriend for Christmas, I almost couldn't contain my excitement. He was even more thrilled with it than I was about it; it looked so good on him, the quality is really good, it feels so soft, not stiff and rough like most other pea coats. When he wore it to his family's house on Christmas, everyone complimented him on it; his best friend saw it and went home and told his fiancee that he wanted the exact same one!!! Hope he has luck finding one because it seems like everyone else realized (as I did) what a hot item this is!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice coat!, June 20, 2008
This review is from: Kenneth Cole REACTION Men's Eden Wool Pea Coat (Apparel)
I bought this coat for my husband Christmas last year. It really fit him well. It looks really classy with jeans or slacks. I was a little concerned with the length (my husband is 6'2)but it hit him perfectly well below his waistline. Best of all, it doesn't gather lint like some I have seen. overall, it is a great buy for the money.

Living in the frigid cold of Minnesota, my husband loves the quality and how the look is still fashionable and trendy. This jacket has a great thermal lining and is a timeless style he can wear for years.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but you're paying for the name; not warm enough, December 4, 2008

The sale price of around $100 should be the list price. The list price of $250 is seriously inflated. It's a nice jacket; the wool is soft and there is a quilted lining, but it's also thinner than expected and just not enough insulation. I bought this for my boyfriend who already has a peacoat but wanted another that would be warmer for New York City winters. This coat does not fit the bill. He is broad-shouldered and has a 46" chest and 36" waist, usually wears a Large or Extra Large. We ordered the Large and it fits fine everwhere except the shoulders where it's tight so he can't lift his arms up. The buttons are also kinda wimpy for a peacoat; his current army/navy-thrift-shop-bought-peacoat has larger, better secured buttons. If you live someplace where winters don't get super cold (or if you're in the car a lot), this coat should be fine. Make sure to get the buttons reinforced and don't pay more than the sale price.

4.0 out of 5 stars VERY impressive, October 15, 2008
This review is from: Kenneth Cole REACTION Men's Eden Wool Pea Coat (Apparel)
I'm very very very picky about coats, and I've been looking for a wool peacoat for years now. It looks excellent, but keep in mind the sleeves are sized regular, so don't think you should get a larger size just to account for layering. Each size increases sleeve length by 1 inch. Both colors look great in person--I had a very difficult time deciding between black and charcoal--I'd go with charcoal though, as it's very difficult to find a competent looking jacket in that color

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent choice, December 25, 2007
The bottom button somehow pulled off, got it fixed correctly and strengthened the other buttons as well. Other than that, coat is excellent and I received numerous compliments. When I wear this coat people think I have money and tend to take me seriously.
