Nice boot, but short life span on sole
on October 4, 2013
I purchased these boots new directly from Kenneth Cole. For the first couple of weeks I was ecstatic because they were comfortable and stylish enough to wear to the office. Then the quality started to show through. First the leather tassel on on of the zipper broke off, but the zipper still operated. Then i noticed that the front of my foot had no cushioning at all and my feet were sore by the end of the day. Now, I work in a carpeted office and drive to work in a carpeted car. I do not use these shoes except during the work day, then change into sandals or sneakers at home. I also interchange them with other dress shoes so they are not worn every day. What I discovered when I went to the Kenneth Cole store was that the right shoe had worn completely through the sole to the inner lining. You could actually put your finger all the way through the hole. These shoes were only 3 months old according to my bank statement, but the manager only offered a 10% discount if I purchased two more pairs. A local shoe repair shop wanted $60 to resole the shoe and heel. As much as I like the look and the initial fit, the material of the sole might as well be cardboard. Steer clear unless you replace your shoes every 3 months.
