This is my first leather laptop bag and I've used backpacks ever since. I just decided go for something different, and professional, and I couldn't be any happier when I got this bag today. But instead of providing a paragraph or two for a review, below is a bulleted list which I think may well serve you best should you need help in deciding to buy this or not:

What I like about this product:
- Design: nicely designed, not too formal nor casual, perfect for work
- Leather: rich and soft leather and authentic as far as I can tell
- Interior: fully lined and single stitched
- Locks/zippers/hooks/rings: bronzed metal that adds to the bag's character
- Front compartment: pouch for a phone, 2 pen holders, 3 credit/business cards slots, one wide zippered pouch
- Middle compartment: holds 15.4 inch laptops; ample space for other items, 3 open pouches (for your mouse, power adapter/cord, and perhaps an external HDD)
- Rear compartment: zippered and can store important documents separately
- Rear exterior pocket: with velcro, for stuff that you need easy access to
- Strap: padded and is comfortable so far
- Top handle: appears to be sturdy
- Packaging: delivered in an amazon box and in its own Kenneth Cole box; bag itself is inside a synthetic/cloth pouch to protect the leather from scratches

What I don't like about this product:
- None so far, will update this if I see any flaws

Verdict: Design. Features. Recommended.

I'd wanted a nice bag for a while and thought this would fit the bill. Don't be fooled by the big box, cloth holding bag and the description. I had expected something nicely made of tanned cowhide that would acquire a patina over the years- instead I received a disappointing commodity of thin, characterless, highly processed and dyed leather with a cheesy polyester lining, very tacky velcro and elastic fastener, zippers which are bound to break, "buckles" that are awkward and difficult to use and an item which I'm pretty sure will be lucky to last just a few years if that. It doesn't even smell like leather- there's just a faint chemical/plastic odor.

The cloth inside I can already tell would be worn and ripped within just a short while. It's thin and badly attached to the leather trim. None of the pockets or compartments inside are leather- just thin polyester with some sort of cheap vinyl or leather tacked onto the top border. The first few times you try to push your MontBlanc or Parker into one of the pen holders it's bound to rip given how flimsily the pockets are made. The interior is poorly thought out with inadequate and useless storage- no mouse pocket, etc. Nothing but a few pen and credit card holders. This is supposed to be a briefcase- not a wallet KC.

Oh- and "imported" means it's made in China. You're paying $200 bucks or more for something thrown together no better than the sleeve which came free with my netbook- seriously. If this is what the Kenneth Cole brand name has come to mean then I'm very, very disillusioned. This is not a well made piece of luggage- it's a piece of crap trading on what people have come to believe is a quality name. If you're looking for a computer bag you'll be better off getting something for 20 or 30 bucks made of canvas- it will last longer. I only gave it two stars cause it's actually made of leather and not vinyl; it wasn't worth the postage it took to return it- again- seriously. The thing was returned and I won't be looking at Kenneth Cole again.

This messenger bag is very high quality made of beautiful brown leather that will look even better with age. The shoulder strap and handle combination make it easier to carry than shoulder strap only bags. The bag has great detail. It's a good size - not too small to handle all of the stuff you need to carry around and not so big that you hurt your back lugging around too much stuff. Lots of room for a laptop, lots of pockets, compartments and pouches to organize all of your paraphernalia. It's easy open and close. It is an excellent value for the price it was offered for at Amazon.

Inpressed with the product. Buyers should know that this bag feels high quality, looks high quality. Leather on the brown bag actually has more of a maroonish tint to it, but it looks great. Only issue I've had has been the buckles on the flap are a bit stiff and don't always release on the first push. I think over time with use that this will improve.

When it comes to men and "bags", there is a fine line between something effective but also stylish in a masculine way. Kenneth Cole has achieved both. I had been searching for a messenger bag that would be effective without being bulky, stylish yet masculine, and also at a price that wasn't ridiculous. When I opened the package, the first impression stated it all. The bag is perfect in size and dimensions. Large enough to accommodate more than you realize, yet small enough not to be a bulky leather sack you have to lug around. The leather material (and YES it is leather and not something else like another review stated) is excellent in quality as well as thickness for a leather bag. The lining is smooth and padded appropriately where needed. The clasps are solid - and not hard at all to work. These are far better than a magnet holding things together. Final verdict - this is the perfect messenger bag. Well done Kenneth Cole! And Amazon for carrying such a high-quality product!

I bought this to replace my generic corporate laptop bag that I've been lugging for the past 6 yrs. My initial requirement was to find something visually appealing that would compliment me in my business attire, room for a laptop, and sufficient pockets for my papers. It does that quite well. What I did not count on was the balance of the bag. My old bag was very bulky and half the time when I was walking with it, I walked with a lean to prevent it from constantly slipping off my shoulder. I no longer have that issue, I can walk straight and even though my contents have not changed, I do not feel the weight anymore. It has very good security features with faux belt straps on the front with a velcro strap over the laptop with two zippered pockets. For convenience there is a large pocket on the other side of the briefcase that is secured by a strong velcro patch which I use to put my newspaper in. Overall, Kenneth Cole did a great job of creating a very professional business laptop bag.

This is a great medium size messenger bag. Lots of pockets and the leather looks and feels great. This bag is exactly as pictured and has a great professional look.

I bought this bag about a year and take it to work every weekday. It is holding up great. It holds a lot and does not get disfigured from all manner of heavy books, food, or computers. My only complaint is that the zippers are noisy when you carry it if you zip them to the ends, which is the normal way to do it. I have to remind myself to zip them to the middle so they don't make all manner of noise. But that's a picky complaint. It's a good bag, you won't be disappointed.

This was a Christmas present from my wife. I am currently getting my teaching credential and Masters Degree and was looking for a bag that was professional, functional, and fit my sense of style. I really wanted one from saddleback leather, but the $500 to $900 for those are just a little out of our reach. She surprised me with this bag that looks similar. I love it! The leather is thick and will definitely age well. Its a little stiff, but I am sure this will ease with use. I would definitely recommend buying!

Got this bag for my son who just graduated from college!! He loves the bag. It is sturdy and straps are real sturdy!! The leather is soft. The buckles are a lil hard to open and close but I think will get easier as it breaks in. It has laid back professional look and is definitely masculine- perfect for someone graduating with BS in psychology.
