Inspiring,
This review is from: Kennison's Gifts (Kindle Edition)
Strengths:Terrific Story. Characters are deep and easy to relate to. The writing is poetic and filled with beautiful imagery. There are several actual poems sprinkled throughout this work, but are integrated seamlessly into the storyline. The 'plot' is inspirational and thought provoking. My favorite aspect: Where it is explained that people come into your life for a reason; you may not recognize the reason until years later, but it is there. Weaknesses: It's a bit longer than it actually needs to be with too much focus on some things and not enough on others. I would have liked to have had Kennison's childhood explored more in depth instead of just always referred to in a sideways manner. Most of his life was due to a bad childhood that we never really get details of, which made me feel like I was missing a huge part of the story. Too much time was spent on descriptions of his travels overseas. While I enjoyed some of the history presented, at times, it began to feel like I was reading a travel guide. This book will appeal to: People who like inspirational fiction with light, nondenominational religious aspects.

It was a privilege for me to read Kennison's Gifts. It book was one of the most beautiful and poetic pieces of work I've ever read, and it stayed with me long after I finished it. It's like a story within a story and it's absolutely beautiful!
