If anyone else writes a review for this DVD other than it's filled with great tunes with nothing but interruption after interruption... they're crazy... I'm a sound man, I've run sound for major label recording artists on tour... and for a 1989 gig, and a live mix, it's not bad; but the constant interview interruptions during the intros and in the middle of EVERY tune... WHY COULDN'T ARISTA KEEP THE INTERVIEWS IN-BETWEEN THE SONGS AND NOT IN THE MIDDLE?!?!?! I almost took it off. I'm a great Kenny G fan, they should re-release this... DONE RIGHT!!! ARISTA...You have the masters... DO IT AGAIN!!!

Kenny G speak all the time. Over each song. I'm fanatic of Kenny G, but this DVD is not a good purchase. Finally, this DVD is a Kenny G documentary. Is not a good concert.

This DVD has everything a Kenny G fan could want. Live music showcasing the talents of Mr G and his wonderful band, interviews with Kenny, band members and guests, and a very good audio transfer.
Complaining about too many interviews pieced in between is nonsense. The interviews come in just as the song finishes, with the applause of the crowd fading into the background. Is applause REALLY crucial? I think not.

This DVD is a wonderful collection of live Kenny G music, with everything from latin funk to slow blues - a must for fans. If you're not a fan, leave this one alone - it probably won't convert you. But if you like jazz music, or Kenny, then this disc is great. Laid back show - perfect for Sunday afternoon viewing or as background. Much recommended.

As much as I love Kenny G, this DVD has too much interupted music. I like interviews, but I prefer a non-inyerruptrd concert

I've worked in and around the music industry for many years. I used to, in fact, manage a mid-level rock'n'roll band (not mentioning any names, so please stop pestering), but I love and appreciate all types of music. Kenny G is probably the greatest living saxophone player, and yes I realize that his critical reputation is not all that positive. But time will tell exactly where Kenny G fits into the pantheon of great jazz horn players; my feelings are very strong that he will eventually be ranked among the "giants" - if not for being a true innovator (though his unmistakable tone is inarguably unlike any other), but for his songwriting and general presentation of his music.

Of course, music is primarily to be listened to, which is why I held out for a long time before adding this dvd to my vast collection of Kenny music on CD. If you could wear CDs out, I probably would've had to buy three or four copies of his "Live" album by now. There is, as with so many artists, a great deal gained by hearing formerly studio-bound music performed for a live audience. Suffice it to say, and my 5 star rating conveys this I'm sure, my only regret is not having purchased this DVD companion sooner. Sometimes seeing a performer so in touch with his audience, as he communicates musically, is a vital part of the experience. Such is the case with Mr. Gorelick (yes, that's what the 'G' stands for, for those of you that always thought Kenny was just trying to be mysterious and cool!).

And a note to a reviewer who claimed some other musician holds the record for 'longest single note held' - check Guiness and you'll see what the truth is. Besides, it's not exactly evidence of talent or artistry to hold a note for 45 minutes anyway, I am disappointed someone with Kenny's integrity would even participate in something that basically amounts to a sideshow act. Trust me, I can overlook it.

I had the VHS of this product several years ago! The dvd is even better, with the added features! Kenny G is a master, and this dvd shows it! To all you out there if you ever have the chance to see Kenny G Live, do it; you will not regret it!!

I searched for this DVD for a while, we had it on "LaserDisc" back in the day.. (1994) and i was a bit skeptical about buying online.. Thank God i got it back!
Picture and sound is Perfect!

I really appreciated the video and also the interviews in between. It gave an overview of the reason for the music and what influenced him.

I love this dvd. He and special guest talks very natural. The man is simply the best. I don't know how come people go to concerts and don't sway music that pumps you up. I got my money worth for sure. He tries everthing and that what I call a musician not just stuck in one zone. I love to hear music I grew up on into a jazz version and it has opened my kids up to another style as well. Keep it up Kenny G.
