Like many of our sconces, Kenroy Home's swing-arm lamps don't necessarily require costly in-wall installation. Most can simply be mounted to the wall with two small screws and plugged into an electrical outlet. For those worried about the look of dangling cords, all of Kenroy's swing-arm designs include cord covers: long, thin strips that match the finish of the lamp and provide a clean-looking transition from lamp to outlet. For maximum camouflage, the lamps can be hard-wired to a junction box, allowing them to operate from a wall switch. Functional and stylish, our swing arms make it easy to direct light where you need it. Adjust the arm to bring light to a bedside table or reading chair. In a wide array of finishes and styles, these versatile swing arms are sure to lighten up any room. We bought two of these, in bronze, to install as reading lamps over / next to our bed. They were packed well and everything arrived intact. Installation is a bit tricky but not too bad, though I would strongly recommend throwing away the wall anchors that came with the unit and getting some better ones. I used the ones in the box, and with the drill bit they suggested, the anchors almost disappeared completely into the wall, and a result, it's not affixed to the wall securely enough, IMO.. I need to go back and reinstall with better anchors, but thought I would share this suggestion so that maybe someone doesn't make the same mistake. Also, I made the mistake of putting the first one directly in line with the wall outlet, and it ended up being too close to use both the cord covers - so I had to shorten it with a chop saw. On the 2nd installation, I put it to the side of the outlet, so if the cord cover was too long, it's not a big deal. Happy to clarify if that's confusing.

Also, I couldn't find this info anywhere in the product description, but it takes a 50/100/150 watt bulb, so it can get as bright as you need to.

In summary, these are good-looking lamps at a nice price, and that don't require the installation of any electrical fixtures. Make sure you pay careful attention to some details when you do the install, and get some better anchors, and it'll save you some grief.

After my twin babies had knocked over and broken the second reading lamp in their room, I decided to get a wall lamp so that they wouldn't be able to reach it. I love this lamp! I installed it on the wall above where the kids can reach from the floor, and while sitting in the rocking chair with one in each arm, I can easily swing it towards us for reading books and then swing it back towards the wall out of reach when we transition to rocking/singing (which was always the part of our bedtime routine when they would reach over and grab the lampshade or knock the lamp to the floor). It has a three way switch and gives great, warm light for reading. It looks nice on the wall, too. I only docked one star because the shade it comes with is a bit flimsy and cracked while I was installing it. You can't really see the crack, though, so it's not that big a deal (and was hardly worth the time/effort to ship back for a replacement). Very easy to install (you do need a drill, though) and it comes with a long, narrow metal cord cover that you can install on the wall to hide the cord on its way to the outlet (another useful feature for deterring two curious kids!).

I bought the Kenroy Home 30110BRZ because I needed a reading light above my bed. I ordered two lights, one in the steel and one bronze. I have a rustic metal bed which is dark brown and highlighted in the decorative parts with a soft bronze. When I took the lamps out of the boxes and looked at them I had one in the stainless steel color (nice) and one in "dark bing cherry", perhaps "dark mahogony red" BUT NOT BRONZE!
The lights themselves are nice especially for the price but my question here is who takes responsibility for inacurate color descriptions? Is it the manufacturer, the company that is selling them? Hopefully after this review someone will take the responsibility and accurately describe the color. Will that happen before some other consumer purchases a BRONZE and is disappointed when they open the package? I think if the company has integrity they
will change the description.

Item just as described. Delivery was prompt. Overall pleased with purchase; however, I e-mailed seller about some damage to the shade due to corner of box being crushed, but I never received any response.

I bought these lamps for reading lights by the living room sofa. We had no room for end tables, so these were a great solution. They were pretty easy to install on the wall. I would suggest buying heavy duty anchors if you have plasterboard walls and are not installing into studs, because the little plastic anchors are not adequate. The chord cover looks nice and overall, I am satisfied. I didn't give five stars because they are really not super, super solid, but for the price, they are just right.

Lamp looks nice, works correctly, and fits what can loosely be called my "decor." Only problem is that the cord should have been at least a foot longer. Manufacturers need to keep in mind that not everyone lives in a house where there are plug-ins every six inches along the wall.

This lamp had so many defects I practically rebuilt it. Harp was so bent at the top the lampshade tilted to the left. The hole for the on and off switch was so far to the left that the knob rubbed against the sides of the opening and I was unable to turn it. Don't buy this lamp.

The lamp is clearly advertised as using a 150 W bulb and a 3 way switch...exactly what I was shopping for.
It's attractive and will do what I expected it to do EXCEPT: the Harp, which is almost impossible to compress and fit into the lamp stem is so small that a regular GE 150 W 3way bulb will not fit inside the harp. The harp must lean against the bulb which hints at early bulb burnout due to overheating. It could even be a safety issue.
I wonder if the people who design these things ever really put one to use.
