This item was on backorder for about 2 months. When it finally arrived, it was in a large box that was quite heavy (2-person type). The box was damaged in several places, but everything inside was fine. However, several key components were missing - namely the pump, lights & transformer. Rather than returning the entire thing to Amazon, I contacted the mfg (by phone) and they agreed to ship me everything at no cost. The parts arrived 2 weeks later (surprising since the rep said everything was in stock & they would be shipped out the next business day). Now comes assembly, which was pretty straight forward except when it came to connecting the hose to the pump. The hose was too short and it ended up being a 2 person job (one holding the upper tiers while the other attached the hose to the pump). Another problem was the top tier was noticably crooked. I tried to re-seat it several times but it was obviously a mfg defect. I ended up turning the fountain in such a way that it was not as noticable. I then filled it with water & plugged it in. Everything appeared to be OK and I let it run overnight. The next day I noticed another defect - water was leaking somewhere between the bottom tier and pedestal. I verified everything was seated properly & filled it with more water. That's when I noticed a slow leak trickling out onto my patio. That was the last straw. I disassembled everything, boxed it up & sent it back to Amazon. I have to mention one other thing about this fountain that I really didn't like - the fact that the lights stay on all the time. The mfg should have put the lights on a separate transformer so they could be controlled independendly from the pump. I prefer to keep the pump running all the time and turn the lights on for only about 6 hours at night. The fountain looks great, but it was a major dissapointment overall - especially when it cost nearly $400! I would not recommend it to anyone until they fix the problems and separate the pump from the lights.

A great deal at half the price. Usually being more discriminating and patient, in this instance my wife and I gave in to compulsion seeking to populate our newly finished patio oasis with a fountain. On the positive it is light and easy to maneuver versus a concrete fountain and it generally looks like the photo. Amazingly enough it leveled out OK but had to put a little gum in some places and shave a little material out in others to even out the drip, specifically on the middle tier. On the negative, build quality is marginal. There were cracks in both the base and middle tier and many of the details are deformed and uneven but since I believe it is a function of being made of moulded fiberglass, I had no hope that a return exchange would be any better. Just rotated the ugly parts to the wall and called it good. The paint is already flaking and a few chips of material have released themselves. We plan to keep it, lesson learned, but had we seen it in a retail store, would never consider paying four Benjamins for it.

This fountain is very enjoyable. It was listed as slightly damaged and reduced in price but it arrived in perfect condition. The packaging looked bad on the outside but it was perfect on the inside. It arrived prior to the scheduled delivery date and was easy to set up. It is heavy enough to be substantial but not too heavy to make it difficult to assemble and set-up. It looks like carved concrete but it is a resin product. My wife and I are very pleased with the fountain and we like the lighted feature. The only problem is that the bugs like the lights too and end up drowning so I have to clean out a few bugs in the morning. I also raised the pump up about a half inch so any sediment would sit under the pump and not get sucked into the pump therefore cutting back on any maintenance. All in all, a great little product.

Please do not go out and purchase this fountain. It is a piece of junk. Most of the accessories did not accompany the fountain and I have yet to get any replacements. It is extremely small, cheaply made, hard to get it to stand up straight. Much too light. Since I purchased this piece of junk, I have come across many fountains, quality way above this one, for much less money. I've learned my lesson. Don't buy large purchases online, read every little detail and I'm even worrying about Amazon.com. How can they sell something like this? It's a shame!

I received the fountain and put it together - pretty easy assembly - BUT the pump wouldn't work. Called the company and they said there had been a problem with the pump vendor and it would be several months before they could ship me a new pump - not very satisfactory. They suggested putting the pump in very hot water to see if it would work - nothing. After messing with it over and over and over, it FINALLY worked. The only thing is - if you turn it off you have a very slim chance of getting it back on. Otherwise, I love the design, the lights, the size, the color - everything. I HOPE to be getting my new pump sometime in August.

This is one of the worst products I have ever received from online. The quality of the fountain is very poor and it was broken upon receipt. The base of the second teir was cracked and the motor did not work. After taking the motor assembly apart and cleaning it, we finally got it to start pumping water.

This product was by no means inexpensive and I am very disappointed that I did not listen to the other reviews and instead wasted my money on it.

We absolutely love our new Costa Brava Fountain. It was well worth the wait until it was available.
