Create a tranquil indoor environment with this table fountain from Kenroy Home. Sleek and dynamic, the Stacks fountain features a square base with a stacked cubes design of four water troughs and three flat-surface cubes at varied tiers. Water flows as if zigzagging down stair steps, pouring out of each trough’s molded spout. In the bottom reservoir, a 12-volt water pump re-circulates the water back to the top cube to begin the cycle again. The water pump must be fully submerged in water for successful operation; fill the reservoir with 1/2 a gallon of distilled water prior to use. To set up the water pump, the fountain provides an entry door to the water reservoir on the back side of the fountain’s body. The water pump’s 6-foot cord connects with the 3-foot cord of the included 120-volt input, 12-volt output transformer. For power operation, plug the transformer into a grounded outlet and flip the convenient power switch.
Painted a sleek black, the fountain was crafted out of durable resin with plastic washers on its base. Three 2-1/8-inch diameter trays, constructed out of black-painted steel, come with the fountain for use on the flat-surfaced cubes. In the trays, place votive candles, seashells, or polished river stones for an added decorative touch. A pound of polished river stones accompany the fountain. Designed for indoor use only, set up the fountain on a water-resistant surface as it may sputter when first turned on. As the fountain includes small parts that pose a choking hazard, keep it out of the reach of children under three-years of age. Upon delivery, the fountain requires basic assembly. Assembly directions are provided. The assembled fountain measures 10-1/4 inches wide by 10-1/4 inches deep by 12 inches high.

I love this fountain; it's just right. I was concerned that the material described as "resin" would look and feel cheap but it doesn't. I think it's quite attractive, looking and feeling very much like ceramic; it even sounds like ceramic when you move it. The black color has "wear spots" that show a little red through like a clay pot would. It's a nice size for the space we had (not too small, not too large). I love watching the water movement so it's great that there are 4 spouts where you see the water, not just one like some fountains have.
It has great water sound too. Turns out the sound is mostly created by the forth and last water spout which has the most drop for the water. It also turns out that the sound can be made less by adding stones to the path of the water. That's what I did at first but we wanted more sound so the stones came back out of the water way. Stones in the waterway made the water foamy too; without the stones the fountain has no foam problems and I still have stones in the cups on the side. The motor is nice and quiet except once in the beginning I let the water run too low; adding more water fixed the problem easily. The side cups can be filled with all sorts of things. The picture shows candles but it came with stones. We have our fountain on a kitchen counter where we can see it from our kitchen table. We live near the Mississippi so we added stones from our own property to personalize it. I've thought about putting moss or small flowers in the cups too but haven't tried that yet. I could see doing holiday themed or seasonal things in the cups for those so inclined. Heads up: The instructions recommend using distilled water so if you don't already have some, you might want to buy it while you're awaiting the the arrival of the fountain. Assembly was super easy.

Great fountain for table top or shelf use. Looks heavy but that's due to the cast resin body. Works great and after adding some river rocks to the 4 basins got the perfect sound that I was looking for. Only issue I had was the inline power switch was a bit further down the cord than necessary so had to coil the cord just past the base so that switch could be reached, but that's due to where I put it, not a build issue.
