My 4 year old son got this as a gift. It was a PAIN to blow up. It is made up of individual chambers that each need to be blown up. He was so excited about it that he kept wanting to try to play in it while I was blowing it up...so I suggest waiting until they are not around to make it easier. My son used it for a few days and LOVED it. We have a slight hill in our front yard and I would get at the top and gently push him down and my husband would catch him...then we would roll him back up. It was a great work out for us too...my son weighs 46 pounds! We had a GREAT time with it...BUT...then we noticed that 5 of the clear chambers were losing air. They did not get holes in them from sticks or rocks, but actually split at the seams. There is no way to patch this. The seams came apart in long sections. SO...we are returning it. Amazon has an easy return policy thankfully. We are undecided whether we want to try another one. My son really loved it and it may be that we just got a defective one...but not sure I want to bother with it again.

I got this for my kids about two years ago. I take it out on rainy days when they are going out of their minds cooped indoors. I have yet to take this outdoors because then it would get so dirty I couldn't bring it back indoors and also because I think the sprinkler heads might pop it.
The kids were about 2 and 5 when I first got it. They loved it then and they love it now. It's more fun when more kids are over. They jump in and out of it, push it around, and put blankets inside to make it into a clubhouse. So far, knock wood, no one has gotten hurt. The kids are pretty rough with it. It's lasted this long, I think I've gotten my money's worth. This year, it's developed a slow leak somewhere, so I think it's on its last legs. It takes a long time to blow this up. You'll need a machine. One valve inflates two yellow chambers. The clear chambers have their own valves. At first, I didn't know how the valves and chambers worked, but the yellow chambers share air with a neighbor through a small hole. When you blow up one, you blow up the other. If the hole is blocked, you need to squeeze it to let the air through or else you only inflate one chamber. When that happens, the chamber you inflate will slowly lose air to its neighbor and you have to pump in more air. Just takes more time to do it that way ;and it may be frustrating the first time, when you think you've inflated a chamber and later see that it's flat. This is one of those things you blow up and leave there for a week, because it's as much of a pain to deflate as to inflate, if not more. The kids roll around a little in it. It doesn't roll as easily as a ball because the sides are not hard plastic. The kids don't mind. Be careful that they don't try jumping on the outside while someone is on the inside. It could suffocate the kid inside. __________________ UPDATE: This ball comes in red and yellow and also in larger sizes than what I bought. I bought the yellow 51 inch ball. It's a nice, bright shade of yellow and the color did not fade with time. (Keep in mind we used it indoors only.)

I bought this toy for my son's 6th b-day as it looked like so much fun. It took forever to inflate, so I inflated over 2 days (I used a rechargeable air pump) and kids were getting very impatient. An air compressor would probably work best. Once it was inflated my two boys played with it for a total of 4 hrs over 2 day period and it started developing leaks. We did make sure there were no rocks or twings in the yard. It comes w/a patch kit (without the epoxy) but good luck finding the holes! It was fun while it lasted.
