I was disappointed to find this keyboard of very cheap quality and poorly designed. It's terrible quality even for Kensington.

Pros:
[1] It's fairly inexpensive.
[2] It's looks pretty nice (I wanted black, and it is indeed black plastic.)

Cons:
[1] The keyboard keys hardly move when you press them (very little depress depth) and provide little resistance.
[2] The signal strength is very poor (even at a ~3 feet away, keyboard button presses are often missed). I bought this hoping it would work through a thin wall (studs 22" apart) -- not a chance.
[3] The quality is very bad. Within a few weeks of light use, the grip on the sides of the mouse started to peel away and wear off. Within a few months of light use, the flimsy support legs on the keyboard broke. I super-glued a leg back together and in a few weeks more it broke again.
[4] The mouse is irregularly large. I have normal sized hands for a full grown man, and I have never been bothered by the size of a mouse before. This one is so large, however, that to hold it appropriately requires my wrist to be elevated off of the desk, which can become uncomfortable after long use. Also note it's definitely not for use by lefties (I'm right-handed.)

Conclusion:
I would not repurchase this keyboard for my own use no matter how low the price. It is a terrible, cheap, barely functional device. Buy one that works instead.

I'm afraid I have to give this product (K72338) two stars. Even as I am typing this, letters are being dropped and have to be retyped. The infrared adapter has to be within 2 feet of the keyboard to get it to work well. I am constantly having problems with it. What prompted me to write this review is that I had to reboot my computer to get my keyboard back. It just quit responding. I've only had it for around 6 months.

Kensington has been around since the beginning of PCs. I know that this is not the first product I have purchased from them. I have to say that I am very disappointed with this purchase. At one point, I had to uninstall software to get the mouse to work again.

In the span of time that it does work, it works well. But, it is only a keyboard. It's not advanced technology. I shouldn't have any problems with it whatsoever.

On a positive note, I do like the layout of the keyboard, and the contour of the mouse. It has power, sleep, and wake keys which I like. And, the keyboard layout overall is old style; which I like because it's what I'm used to.

This keyboard replaced my Logitech keyboard which up and died on me. I had problems with it as well. I think I'll give the Microsoft keyboard a shot. But, gees, I've never had this may problems with keyboards... and they're getting expensive. You used to be able to by a really good one for $10-$20.

I bought this KB / Mouse combo to use with my HDTV. I did not want a small, non-standard setup; I like the normal-size interface this provides.

Both the KB & Mouse are built very solidly. The KB is very quite and has a great feel to it, and the mouse has the extra forward/back browser buttons that I demand. The Mouse wheel has just enough detents in the scrolling action to give you some feedback, but not enough to make it more difficult to scroll than need be. Like the other reviewers, I wish there was a caps/num/scroll lock light, but it's not a deal-breaker...no other KB/Mouse combo I've had has one either, and certainly not at this price.

The KB also has wake, sleep and power keys too, which is also nice for controlling my HDTV-connected PC from across the room in my Lazy-Boy.

In short...I couldn't be happier with this product. This combo looks and feels like a nice Microsoft product, but at a more reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

I wanted a keyboard mouse combo that had good range so I could use it when my laptop was connected to a T.V. This combo does an excellent job with the long range, and it doesn't need to be line of sight. The mouse has an on off switch to save on batteries. The keyboard has a nice touch to it when typing, like the other reviewer noted there is no light to tell when caps lock is on, but I tend to read what I type so it isn't a problem.

If I had to find something to complain about it would be the mouse is larger than I like, and there is no built in dongle holder in either the keyboard or mouse to store the dongle when not in use.

I actually like this combo better than the Logitech that I have connected to my desktop, and I just may get another to replace the Logitech. I was considering getting this from Newegg, but they wanted almost $13 for shipping. This is the third item I have bought from [...] and they have been great.

There is no caps-lock light. That by itself is enough to warrant the title "poorly designed". But more importantly: there are all kinds of "special" buttons (calculator, volume control, browser controls), but they don't make up for the simple fact that the wireless communication is spotty and coarse. The first thing we did was put fresh batteries in. The cursor jumps around and doesn't move smoothly across the screen. The keyboard doesn't register some keys, and then does, like it's got a poor connection to the receiver. Sometimes the keyboard drops connection completely, then works and the mouse drops completely. It's almost as if you can't use them at the same time.

Go with something else.
