Great product. Very Well Built and Solid,
This review is from: Kensington 60106 Desk-Mount Arm for Flat Panel Monitor (Black) (Personal Computers)
The quality is way better than what I expected, and it's holding my monitors very securly. I like the added flexability of being able to go from portrait to landscape very easily and setup was a breeze.
Regarding the other review about it being too loose. I actually had the opposite problem. Mine was too tight. But not a big deal (and shouldn't be a big deal for the guy that complained about i being too loose). You can actually adjust the tightness for all of the joints. Just pop off the plastic covering of the joint and you will see some bolts. Grab a wrench and tighten away (or loosen in my case). Love it. It's great.

Very flexible,
This review is from: Kensington 60106 Desk-Mount Arm for Flat Panel Monitor (Black) (Personal Computers)
Very good hardware for the price.
Pros: * Solid construction, dual table clamps * Quite flexible (swivel, pan, tilt, rotation) Cons: * Not fully flexible; height adjustable +/- 1" by moving bolt holes only. * Cable management pretty useless (just use zipties)

I had great expectations for this arm. It's specs said it could handle a monitor up to 20 lbs, my Samsung 21" weighs approximately 15-16 lbs without it's stand. Perfect I thought.
The installation was easy enough, and yes, the arm does support my monitor's weight. However, the monitor's weight makes it tilt down towards the desk, making it impossible to view the screen properly. There are no tension adjustments for the swivel that controls the tilt, so the only way to keep the monitor from tilting down because of it's weight is to put an object on the desk under it. Kind of defeating for a monitor arm that is supposed to add freedom of motion. I suggest looking for a monitor arm that allows you to adjust the tenstion of the swivel. There are a few such as Humanscale's M7 monitor arm that have a balljoint instead, that can be adjusted (screws on the VESA mount) so as not to have this problem. Kensington themselves have been less than helpful in trying to come up with a solution for this problem. They suggested that since my monitor is not on their "compatible monitors list" which is just outdated in my opinion, it's not their problem. Yet on their list are monitor models that weigh 3-6 lbs MORE than mine. I guess a heavier monitor that they add to their list defies the general laws of physics as well. All in all stay away from this.

Got this to work with a 24" LCD,

I was expecting more flexibility regarding height and depth. I would likely go with a model that had a separate slider for height, BUT they are twice as expensive if not more.
With the standard installation this will not allow you to rotate a 24" monitor. I put in some spacers and used the lowest bolt settings on the clamp and it works ok. It is very stable. I even have it mounted to the side of my desk so that the arm and wires are not as visible.

Good value, nice product. After reading reviews I was concerned about the monitor dipping, my monitor is on the heavy side of the specs. It was simple to remedy, just used a wrench to tighten a bolt. Sturdy and works as advertised.

Sturdy and well built. tilts at all angles. Other reviews comlained of movement too loose or to tight but I did not find this to be the case.
One drawback: I needed to mount so monitor was above another item. Limited hight. Arm is 12" max above mounting surface. Was able to add pieces of 2'x4's under base to get my requirements.

We have had two of these arms installed in industrial areas where I work for several years now (17" and 19" widescreens), and I have been very impressed with the look, feel, and durability of them.
While it doesn't provide quite the range of motion of some of the taller, more articulated arms on the market, it makes up for this by being an extremely well-built piece of metal, one I don't feel at all nervous about attaching several hundred dollars of electronics to and then monkeying around with it. They also look very nice--better, in my opinion, than the more articulated arms--and include a plastic cable guide to keep cables out of the way and concealed. It's also more adjustable than it appears--by changing the positions of the pins holding the arm to the base in the back, you can change the height and how far forward it projects from the mount point. The motion is smooth, and the tension is adjustable. Rotation-wise, the monitor can be rotated a full 360 degrees in either direction, so portrait, landscape, or even upside down is possible. Also, the reviewer complaining that the tilt joint was too loose and couldn't be adjusted was mistaken; there's a plastic cap that conceals a nut that is used to adjust the tension on that joint. Mine was actually tighter than I wanted, so I loosened it somewhat. The only possible disadvantage of this arm that I can see is if the VESA mount on the rear of your monitor is not centered and you want some height, the monitor will hang relatively far down. An old ViewSonic 17" that I set up on one of these had that situation, and it didn't leave a whole lot of clearance underneath, though was still entirely usable. I can certainly recommend these for industrial situations, but based on the finish and durability it would also be the first arm on my list were I buying one for use at home.

I have a Dell Ultrasharp 2408wfp (24" flatscreen), reviewed as THE best 24" flatscreen (1900x1200 @ 1080p HD) by cnet.com.
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-6272 It weighs 15.4 pounds (flatscreen only). It positions the screen exactly where I want it, provides me flexibility for movement as I planned (very happy that my plans / expectations were met). Very happy with the "cable management" feature that it comes with. I've got the Power, DVI, USB, and VGA cable going through it. Snug fit, works great. Downside? Hmm. Well since my monitor is 15 lbs, the tilt up / down feature is starting to "go". I'll elaborate. All the joints are tight. Imagine a desk where the bracket is mounted directly in front of you such that it is not swiveled in any direction, but head on, so to speak. Now turn (rotate) the monitor to the left as if a colleague were sitting to your left. Not quite 90 degrees, but a good > 65 degrees to the left. No issues there. Next imagine the colleage is standing while you are sitting. So you have to swivel it upwards several degrees. Well I only have it roughly positioned 15 degrees upward, and it sits fine. While I was re-positioning (remount, I didn't like the first mount location), when the monitor is facing me and is at 0 degrees on the Y axis (not tilted up or down) it slowly started to tilt downward on it's own. :( I read a review where this happened to the poster, and someone responded to him that he simply tightened the bolts on the joint. That pleased me to hear (knowing that if it became an issue for me, that I could easily resolve it).

I have used this Kensington mount with good results on a Dell 24" Monitor and did not experience any problems with unwanted tilting or sinking height over time. Half as expensive as many equivalent desk-mount arms, it is a great value. It is not as high as some competitive mounts, but it is high enough to not cause eye or neck strain if you are 5"11" or under. Large format monitors can gobble up desk space, and a desk mount claims it back. In addition to regaining desk space these types of desk mounted units make it possible to swing your monitor around and share your screen with others sitting in the room. Real handy if you have production schedules or graphic design you need to share. If your desk will support the use of this type of mount I highly recommend it. Many of my colleagues have purchased one after seeing it in use on my desk. It is unfortunate it cannot support 26 lbs as it would be great solution for a 24" iMac.
