5.0 out of 5 stars Feel your computer breathe!, July 21, 2002
This review is from: Kensington 62648 FlyFan USB Notebook Fan (PC/Mac) (Personal Computers)
This very cool gizmo will work with any self-powered USB connection (Mac or PC). Note that this will not work plugged into your keyboard (not enough power). It only works plugged into a laptop USB port, a powered USB port on your desktop model or a self-powered USB hub.

Blades are very thin, paper-like rubber, so you won't cut yourself with them or worry about bending the blades when storing it in your laptop carrying case/bag.

Gives a really nice breeze, but it won't make a 100-degree room feel like it's only 75 or anything. It's a fan, not an air conditioner... but if you're in an office or on a plane where the air is stuffy, this is a great personal fan to make conditions a little less stifling. The cord/neck is sturdy, yet flexible and can be placed in a number of varying contortions to suit your needs.

I like this thing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, bad implementation, April 9, 2007
This review is from: Kensington 62648 FlyFan USB Notebook Fan (PC/Mac) (Personal Computers)
I saw this item advertized and thought, "Wow, that's a great idea." So I ordered two, one for my laptop and one for my PC. The fan-blades are soft, and the thing puts out plenty of cooling air... when it works. The motor's sealed-in, however, so it overheats, and Kensington even included a temperature-switch to cut the fan off when it becomes too warm; unfortunately, this means that to restartn the fan, you apparently hyave to remove it from the USB port and set it aside for awhile. Also unfortunately, the fan overheated in *both* of mine after 5-10 minutes, every time. Now, after a grand total of 2 hours use of each, they're dead as doornails; the motors are toast. Basically... don't waste your money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little fan!, July 29, 2003
This review is from: Kensington 62648 FlyFan USB Notebook Fan (PC/Mac) (Personal Computers)
I like it a lot. Great for laptop and its got a flexible neck. Only issue might be the slight noise it creates. Haven't tested the battery drain yet. Recommended for laptop owners.
