I bought two fans from Amazon, Kensington 62648 FlyFan USB Notebook Fan and the Thermaltake Mobile Fan II External USB Cooling Fan.

Kensington FlyFan is noisy, it has a high pitch noise that is quite annoying. I used it for only 4 hours, and it has been sitting in my desk drawer ever since. Total waste of money!!!

If your need a fan for your laptop, go with Thermaltake Mobile Fan II External USB Cooling Fan instead. My Thermaltake Mobile Fan II External USB Cooling Fan is plugged in 24x7, it's cheap, quiet, and worth every penny!!!

I was hoping that by getting this I'd get a decent flow of air and i'd be able to use it anywayer. But I was sorely dissappointed. It doesn't give much air and all the air you get you need to be close to feel... plus its too loud to use in most places...

If you really need it, you can get it... but I can't use mine often because like I said its too loud. Not worth it, not enough air flowing.

I have been using one of these for a year now, and love it. Being flexible, I can move it closer or farther away from my face to get the cooling I need. Noise is so minimal that it disappears into the background. I have been carrying the one around with me from home to work to use on different computers, finally going to break down and buy a couple more.

Owned one of these since 2003 and it just died so I got another. The neck is stiff and holds its position well. Moves a fair amount of air for what it is and the noise is about right. Still a bit expensive but I can say that it will most likely last longer than your sub $10 ones. I used my last one for 12 years, sometimes 24 hours a day.

I don't know what that other guy was talking about with it overheating and whatnought. I've not had any problems with it. It's probably the sweetest geek gadget around! It complements my iBook very well. Very cool.

For the first month I had the fan, it worked just fine. Then one day it slowed down, and then finally stopped. If I give the 'blades' a good spin, the fan may start up sometime, but it slows down again in a matter of seconds. Stay away.

Great little Fan for moving air in a stifling environment. Very nice, not too loud. Sounds like a fly, hence the name, I suppose, but not disturbingly so. Was the answer I was looking for! Thanks for a great product!

Pros: Neat little gadget. Provides extra ventilation. Runs off of USB. Stiff but flexible neck. Soft flexible nylon blades.

Cons: A bit noisy if you're in a quiet environment. No on/off switch.

The fan works well, gives off enough air flow. The neck, I believe could be a little longer. The price for this fan was too high compared to other fans of the same caliber.

I work in a room that is pretty cramped and has no HVAC (temporary space) and this fan is EXCELLENT!! It's a clever, useful little gimmick.
