4.0 out of 5 stars It worked for me.
This product has worked for me on XP SP2 without problems.
It connects to my Motorola phone to transfer ringtones, addresses. It maintained connectivity beyond 20 feet.
I've had the product for several weeks, and don't have any
complaints.

The included driver disk has an old version of the drivers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why on Earth doesn't it support Audio/Headset service?
So, I just recently received a bluetooth headset for a christmas gift, which is cool, and I had the idea of buying a USB adapter for my computer to allow it to be used as a wireless headset for my computer (as I do voice chat over the internet a lot). The OS (I'm using an OSX 10.3.6 machine right now) detected the device fine, but I found that I couldn't use the headset...

So, I just recently received a bluetooth headset for a christmas gift, which is cool, and I had the idea of buying a USB adapter for my computer to allow it to be used as a wireless headset for my computer (as I do voice chat over the internet a lot). The OS (I'm using an OSX 10.3.6 machine right now) detected the device fine, but I found that I couldn't use the headset as an input or output. Confused, I went to Kensington's website and found that lo and behold, the adapter doesn't support the Audio Gateway or Headset services. What in the? Avoid like the plague. Just be smart and get the Linksys.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not great for my purposes..., February 10, 2005

I bought this for use with my Nokia 6620 Smart phone to sync with MS Outlook. The product has to be "forced" to operate by re-affirming the phone profile everytime I use it. It may have compatibility problems with the Nokia PC Suite software, so be fore-warned!

5.0 out of 5 stars Plug and Play with Mac and RAZR, September 14, 2005

Device works great. Opened the box plugged it into the USB port on my keyboard sync computer to my phone and that was it. I was able to tranfer pics from my phone to computer. And sent MP3 to my phone and set them as ring tones.

As with all products it's a good idea to find out if your devices are compatible.
As the case with Mac, The new Tiger OS has a bunch of cool features in there apps for bluetooth.

Overall great product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great to start with but...., April 7, 2005

I was using my adapter to access the internet via my laptop, using my Sony T610. Worked great for 10 months and then suddenly just stopped. It now requires a lot of shaking around in the USB port for it to work. Checked USB port, works fine with everything else. Adapter isn't damaged or anything like that. I would give it 5 stars if it's life span was more than 11 months!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked perfect for windows xp sp2, September 24, 2005
This review is from: Kensington Bluetooth USB Adapter ( 33085 ) (Personal Computers)
I purchased this device to use with my windows XP (SP2) so that I could connect to various Bluetooth devices as well as my PDA's

I have read quite a bit about problems with SP2 but I have to say I followed the instructions that came with the device and had it up and running in about 20 minutes.

My first test was with my Holux GPS236. Its very simple the software drives lets you configure several services. Got the Holux I created a standard serial port.

With the serial port connection configured all my software worked perfect. Even my custom software.

The next step was my PDA. One service I created was a file connection to my PDA's. I have two PDA's and it's a pain to do this with the ACTIVE Sync software. It works perfect with the Bluetooth.

I strongly recommend this device.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible introduction to the world of bluetooth, January 29, 2006

Apparently the bluetooth "standard" is not a standard at all. After a great deal of fighting, I was finally able to pair this with my motorola headset. But that was as far as I got. I can't get it connected and constantly get the response that a connection could not be obtained. Once I got connected as a fluke but only for a "good" strength connection even thought the headset was 2 inches away and the connection did not result in any response with the software I wanted to use it with. Connection dropped spontaneously a minute later. Complete garbage. However, if anyone knows of a bluetooth adapter that actually works, I'd love to hear about it.

3.0 out of 5 stars OSX users -- avoid this one., October 17, 2004
This review is from: Kensington Bluetooth USB Adapter ( 33085 ) (Personal Computers)
This adapter isn't compatible with 10.3.5 OSX. It will get you up and running but causes kernal panics and other problems. Just thought I'd save somebody some grief. I'm sure it's a fine adapter on other platforms.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless for Palm PDA, January 6, 2005
This review is from: Kensington Bluetooth USB Adapter ( 33085 ) (Personal Computers)
Does not work with Palm One products. Sent an email request for tech support to Kensington Customer No-Service and still had not received a response after 8 days. Avoid - recommend the Linksys product.
