I purchased two last month and have encountered zero issues with them. The removable dock cable is very nice, and it will charge/power other USB devices. It's compatible with Apple iPod nano (1st, 2nd and 3rd generation); iPod (4th and 5th generation); iPod classic; iPod touch; iPhone; iPhone 3G.

Not the cheapest iPhone charger out there, but it is well made and the USB cable plugs in solidly. As others have mentioned, you can charge any USB device with this as well while on the go. Nice long cable, you could likely keep this plugged in and talk while *safely parked on the side of the road* :). Highly recommended.

Simple and inexpensive, providing a powered USB port you can use to charge anything. If the blue light bothers you, rotate it while plugged in and you can't even see it, or put a piece of tape over it :p

I bought this so I could charge both my iphone 3g and my son's ipod nano while we were on road trips. It worked great on both.. FOR TWO WEEKS. Then it stopped charging and the piece that plugs into the lighter smells like burnt electronics. Luckily my trip took me close to an Apple store and I picked up a Griffin charger in there to replace it.
I'd avoid this piece of junk.

I would not recommend this charger. Mine worked for 4 days and then started to overheat after 20 minutes of use, and then it discontinues to charge the phone. To correct the problem I have to unplug it and let it cool for several hours and then it will charge again for 20 minutes.

Decided on this charger because I liked that it doubled as an extra USB cable so I could charge my iphone while using it at work. For the first week, this worked ideally and I congratulated myself on my good choice. However, the past several days, the cord will sometimes work and sometimes won't. I haven't discovered any trick to it. If I disconnect it for a while and then try reconnecting it, I can sometimes get it to charge. The frustrating thing is it will pretend to charge it. The lightning bolt/charging icon will appear in the battery, but then I'll receive a message saying I have 20% battery. Also, it doesn't sync with the computer. I haven't had any luck removing photos using this cord.

I have only used it in the car once, and it didn't work at all. Hopefully I discovered its uselessness in time to get a refund. This is also my first review with Amazon, although I've been buying from here for years. This product annoyed me enough that I am hoping to spare others the hassle.

Initially the iPhone quit working when unpugged, but after cooling down re-started and seems to be OK now.

I finally broke down and bought one of these when my iPod ceased holding a charge for longer than a few hours. With a long car trip in our future, I knew we'd need it because long car trips with nothing to listen to mean wanting to throw yourself out the window.

Well, it did it's job as advertised, which is all I can ask of it. Kept the iPod charged and ready to go, which meant a steady stream of music and podcasts for the family and me. And that meant no throwing myself out the window.

Which would, as I'm sure you can imagine, have been quite painful.

Fairly small unit, easy to store, doesn't really get in the way. I just toss it in the glovebox when not using it.

This is a top quality charger. I had bought two cheap chargers, and both of them quickly broke. Both the cable and the adapter are very sturdy (the cable is actually pretty thick) and in my opinion should last a long time.

Was thrilled with this product initially. I bought two, one for myself and one for my wife. Both initially worked well. However, after less than a year, mine has stopped working consistently. Sometimes it would charge my iPhone. Other times, it would feel hot to the touch and would not charge my iPhone. Overheating? Would not buy again. Quality control is hit or miss. While mine stopped working, my wife's still works fine.
