I was a martyr to static electricity around my work area until I used Dust Guardian on my chair and the surrounding carpet. No more static shocks after that (I can't speak for the dust :-) One application lasted a couple of months.
My only reservation is the mild perfume they put in the product, it's completely unnecessary even if it's not particularly objectionable.

This worked well to keep down static on foam filler used in a equipment transportation case.
