One of my biggest complaints is the battery life of the iPhone. This product is a great solution (at least until apple improves the battery life). I keep it on my desk at work. I can charge the phone as well as the spare battery at the same time (only when plugged into an outlet, only the phone charges if connected to the computer). At the end of the day, I put the spare in my bag and I don't have to worry about how much I use the phone while I'm out and about. I have used it quite often and have also come to the rescue of friends with a low charge.

As a dock, this product performs well as long as you use the provided Universal Dock inserts. However, if you happen to have a nice case that comes with a third party insert, the connection can be rather iffy. As long as you make sure to firmly press the iPhone into the dock, you'll be fine.

The supplied battery is merely ok. It charged my iPhone extremely slowly; in fact, I suspect that it charged the phone only slightly faster than the iPhone used power. Additionally, the battery fits very snugly to the iPhone. This requires one to remove any case from the phone, which is a pain.

I was awaiting my baggage in an airport this fall and watched a woman frantically running around baggage claim with a wall charger in her hand looking for a place to plug in her dead or soon dying phone so she could make that critical, world-saving telephone call that everyone needs to/craves to make just after the plane lands. I will never forget the crazed look on her face as she frantically did her loops around baggage claim. There are really very few calls I need to make that badly but I had this innate need to avoid the same frightening thanatological problem and possibly frightening small children. So, I was unsure whether to spend <what amounts to me as> a fair amount of money for this product. I was wrong, dead battery wrong! It is very well constructed and fits my 3G perfectly. The second battery compartment charges efficiently (didn't set a timer on the first full charge - sorry), retains a charge (no timer to measure the discharge rate - again, sorry), plugs into my phone, and provides the power to continue using my phone (didn't set a timer and run the charge to empty - really, I am sorry).

I have read enough reviews to notice that techie products are often reviewed by people who provide all kinds of data, numbers, rates, and comparisons with standard industry factors that I just do not understand. Good for them and keep up the excellent work. I, however moderately technically competent I may be, just like this product because it works just like it is supposed to work!

I was looking for a combination docking station that would charge my iPhone, sync my iPhone and charge a small external battery pack for it for when the internal battery gets low (during the ocasional very long day with lots of iPhone use). The Kensington works great for that, my iPhone is sitting on my desk charging and synced with music I haven't listed to yet.

I'm very pleased so far.

After buying this product for my nightstand, my alarm clock went to Goodwill. Why have all these extra devices? I had a backup battery alarm clock, but realized that the I phone does the same thing in less space.

PROS- no more alarm clock=more space, easy to view or you can turn screen off so that no light bugs you at night...SWEET!

batterv backup is great and works fast!! Took it on a trip where we were depleting our phone batteries almost everyday and it recharged fast and easily every time!!

easy to travel with as it is small and the cord comes off to prevent cord bending damage.

CONS- while it fit my standard case, it doesn't work with my I phone 3 in an otterbox.

- cord comes off of device so easily that sometimes it isn't charged because cord came off at night probably from minor jiggling of phone to check time or dog bumping into nightstand.

I purchased this item as I have an iPod Touch and found that while surfing the internet and playing games the battery would not last that long. At first, I loved this product. Easy to set up and the stand would charge my iPod too and also let me sync. The battery stopped working all of a sudden. They did send me a replacement which did the same thing. But I think it had something to do with a power surge problem I had. I have now purchased the imax battery pack. I like this much better. It will hold a long charge and you can use it to charge other items too like a cell phone.

I ordered the Kensington charger after my iphone charging cord disappeared from a hotel room. Amazon delivered this quickly and I love it. The phone snaps easily into place and the charging appears to be quickly done. What is fantastic is the small backup battery that comes with it. You can apply this charge when you'll be using your phone extensively (and know it's going to lose its charge.) It easily snaps onto the iphone for a quick second charge. At first I didn't see that the small gray cover on the battery is removable, in order to plug it into your iphone. But once I found that, I was delighted. It is a small, flat easily carried extra charger that comes in handy. The main unit takes up very little space on my dresser, is plugged into an outlet at all times, and the iphone snaps easily onto it. I won't forget this when I leave a hotel room!

Sadly, there are some things you can't say much about beyond They Work Just Like They're Supposed To. This would be a good charger at Amazon's price; throw in the battery (with a cap that also let's it function as a stand!) and you get an excellent cost-effective unit. We use it with our iPhone 4 and iTouch 3. ADDITION: I've used the battery twice now. Since it acts like a charger, from the iPhone's point of view, you can slip it into your pocket, plug your iPhone into it when the iPhone's battery gets low, and let the iPhone recharge without thinking about it. The indicators on the battery let you know when it's drained.

Battery pack didn't connect securely to my 3GS, so it wouldn't charge at all. Dock is fine.

This is a really great product that extends the use of my iPod Touch (2G) for long flights. However, you need to be aware that you will not be able to use the headphone jack while the battery pack is attached, since it covers the entire bottom of the iPod touch. The battery pack charged my iPod quickly and fully in a short time, so that isn't a huge deal breaker, but dropped my review by one star.

I love that I can charge the iPod and the battery pack together using only one outlet. My battery pack and iPod attached to the cradle firmly with no connection problems. I have only used this a few times so far, so it will be interesting to see if the battery pack life remains at high levels over time.
