Package came in a nice small box, fit well and was protected well. Box was easy to open and the contents are easy to remove, no hassle. Included in the box is the dock itself, a mini USB cable, two dock adapters (3G/3Gs, IP4) and some manuals.

The dock is very nice, there are photos I uploaded of the dock from all angles so you all can see it clearly. It is black matte and looks great. It has a decent weight to it and the matte actually extends to the base, resulting in it having some traction so you don't have to worry about it slipping around freely if you happen to just tap it.

Using the dock is very simple. The dock has a mini USB port in the rear, you plug in the USB wire into the dock, then into a USB port on your computer and you're all set. Charges well and syncs just fine. A nice thing about this is that the dock can be connected to a computer for charge and sync or just directly connected to the wall using any charger that has a mini USB port. (ie Blackberry charger or Apple USB Power Adapter + mini USB) I have an iPhone 3Gs so I take the iPhone 3G dock adapter, which of course has the same exact dimensions as the 3Gs, and attach it. Once on, you just put your phone onto the dock and it holds it well in place. I haven't used it with a case yet, however the only case I own is the CapsuleNeo from switcheasy which comes with its own dock attachment.

Why? Well, the iPhone leans back at an angle and with the case, the phone is even heavier. There's no support on the back of the phone without an adapter so basically the phone just leans back and puts all its weight on the dock connector. The dock connector will bend back damaging the dock AND the iPhone.

Removing the dock attachment is easy enough, there is a slit (which I uploaded a photo to show) which you can just get your nail in there and just pull it up, simple and easy.

Overall, a very well built dock that does what it was meant to do and well. Well worth the $20 spent.

This is an excellent dock for charging and syncing your iPhone. I use it with the iPhone 4. By removing the sizing tray, I am even able to charge my phone with the case on. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good way to charge/sync your iPhone or iPod.

As advertised. Instead of placing my ipod touch on the desk grabbing the sync cable and inserting it in, now I just place it on the charger. It has its on secure space. Peace of mind! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that I thought it would come with a wall adapter, so you could plug it into a wall socket. It does not. It only comes with a usb sync cable to charge from a computer. I bought it with the idea of placing this cradle on my nightstand.

The dock works really well as long as you dont have a case on your iphone. However, If you do have a case on it the flap that normally covers the port causes the phone to move on the docking station and therefor wont charge or sync. Its a good docking station as long as you dont have a case, but if you do I would suggest something else.

I ordered three of these for around our house, largely based on the good reviews here. While the unit feels sturdy and well built, all three were hard to get to charge our phones (iphone 3G and 4's). Now, two of the three have stopped working all together. We aren't using a case with the phone, so we know that's not the issue, and we've even tried removing the customized tray that fits the bottom of the phone more snugly.

We threw away the packaging before the issues started so we're stuck with them, be sure you keep your packaging until you've verified yours work...beware!

I was using the Belkin dock for a while and it worked just fine. But it did not fit my iPhone4 when I used the Otter case. The Kensington did fit with a slight modification on the bottom of the case.
It also seems to be a little heavier than the Belkin, which makes it easier to remove the phone. And what can we say about the color? It's black! I'm very happy with my Kensington purchase and am going to get another one!

This is an excellent desktop dock. Solid construction, its weighted so it doesn't topple over and they look pretty good on the desk too. The price is the best part however- I picked them up for $12 a pop (compared to the official dock at $40 i think). I purchased three, one for home office, office and the bedroom. I love the iPhones - which means I use them all day every day, which plays hell on the battery - slotting them into the dock whenever i sit down solves this issue- and makes alerts, messages easy to read/spot.

Only drawback is - If you have your iphone in any kind of case, this dock will not work. Its a nice snug fit for a caseless iphone - but will not fit an iPhone with a case.

There are two adapters (iphone 4/4S and iphone 3GS) in the box, the doc itself and a usb cable to plug into a computer or your iphone power cube.

Received first one in the mail. Did not function properly. I emailed Kensington and told them about the problem. They immediately mailed out a new one which I have received and is in working condition. Good customer service.

The product itself is ok. Very sturdy and does not move around on the surface. However, it only comes with a USB cord and not the adapter to plug it into a wall outlet. Also does not fit very well if you have a case on your phone.

I've always been happy with Kensington peripherals; and this one is no exception. The build is sturdy, is not cheap like many others designed & manufactured somewhere I've not heard of. This is designed in California and made in China, and the quality shows its design strengths. It doesn't slip on the desktop, it doesn't flip over backwards when you place your phone on it, and the UCB cable is detachable (not that I disconnect it at all, but a broken cable is easy to replace by another stock USB cable).

Recommended; don't fiddle with plugging that white connector to your iPhone, just put it on the cradle and you are done.

Simply put, this dock is a great item for my iPhone 4. I have a heavy-duty case on my iPhone 4 and with this dock I can charge and sync without removing the case. I left out the ipod adaptors that came with the dock so there is plenty of room for my phone with the case. It is nicely heavy with a rubberized finish so it stays put and is easy to dock/undock. Quality build, works great, highly recommended.
