Customer Reviews

This Keyboard is so easy to use.

Primary complaints were a) bulky b) flimsy c) annoying way of attaching the tablet to the velcro backing, and not for every day use.
M. Milsap
The Bluetooth keyboard works well and the keys are spaced out enough to where I can type pretty decently on it.

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note, the guys at Fry's suggested this case/keyboard combo. I decided to go for it because there was a $25 mail in rebate. I have mixed feelings. The case is nice, a little bulky but what do you expect with an attached keyboard. That doesn't bother me. The stand is ok, like some of the other reviews say the spine makes it a little flimsy, but it's not terrible. I spent the day in bed and it worked while sitting on my lap, that is with the keyboard removed. Even so I still set the keyboard down in front of it and can type fine. That is if the keyboard worked right. First, I don't like that is doesn't automatically connect to my tablet when turned on. I have to manually go into settings and connect every time I want to use it. Second, the on screen keyboard doesn't detect it, so it stays on screen while I'm using this external keyboard. (I don't know if the a fault in the tablet or this keyboard) Third, some of the the buttons don't work! I type fast and this keyboard can't keep up. When I go back to look at a sentence half the letters are missing. The period button back spaces. When I push shift and any of the symbol buttons, nothing happens. But if I push letter buttons the first three or four letters will be capitalized even though I let go after tapping the first letter. Very disappointing seeing as a blog and was hoping to not have to sit in front of my pc non stop. Returning it this evening.

I have read some prior reviews for the original generation KeyFolio. Primary complaints were a) bulky b) flimsy c) annoying way of attaching the tablet to the velcro backing, and not for every day use. Looking by the picture, it looks like the same thing - sans demo tablet and the slightly removed keyboard. However the features in this newest model are worth noting:

a) The bulk is still there, but the keyboard is very light and secures by magnets - one in each of the corners. For my Latitude ST, I will purchase Windows 8 upgrade for it, allowing it to be more touch friendly. However I am still "crippled" without the keyboard (which IS "OPTIMIZED" for Android) when doing text input intensive tasks.

b) It is very sturdy, with a slight exception being the spine. The Latitude ST is about 1.8 lbs and so far, I have not had any concern with it falling out. The "hinge" corner set they sent you is very quite versatile in two says: they are secure yet pliable. Maybe I'm lucky, but my ST fits very well using a combination of two large bottom corner supports, one small upper left corner support (the large would block USB port), and NO support in the upper right). The upper right is where the stylus recesses into the tablet, and I like that as opposed to the spot the case has. The elastic band that goes around it seems it will hold tight, but if I can update this review at a later date to report on how its held up under wear I will try and do so.

The velcro attachments are very secure and, the way I have them arranged as described above, can easily remove the tablet from the case if passing it around, etc. They also separate the keyboard from the tablet screen, which was actually a top concern of mine.

I bought this for my Dell Latitude 10. It works great! Yes, it's a little bulky, but I like that because I know my tablet is being protected. I think the keyboard works great, with my only complaint being that there is no "End" key...I use "End" all the time because I type a lot of notes and it's a very convenient way to get to the end of a line fast. It has a "Home" key, so I just found it really odd that there was no "End" key. Luckily there are programs that you can download in which you can reassign a key you never use (e.g. I made F12 my End key). I like how the keyboard and corner attachments for the tablet are held to the backing with Velcro; it makes it really easy to adjust the size to really secure the tablet in. Overall, I would recommend.

I have had this case for about a month. I did alot of research on the wireless keyboard cases. I have owned 3 different USB keyboard cases, and they all were very cheap and didnt last very long. I decided to get a wireless, because the USB connections on the other cases were the weak point. In addition, the other cases were just cheap looking....but what do you expect for $13.
The Kennsington was about $70 thru Amazon. It is very well constructed, with very nice covering....not sure it is real leather, but a much better covering than previous ones. The keyboard pairs up with ease, and all of the keys work. It is comfortable to type on....although just a little smaller than a computer key board, very easy to get used to. Keys are separated, and a lot less of a problem with multiple/erroneous key strokes. Keyboard battery life is awesome. I use it almost everyday, have had it about a month, and have yet to recharge the keyboard. Some reviewers have complained about the size, and, to some degree, they have a point, but the size difference between this case, and cases without a keyboard are not that great. BTW, I didnt mention that I got this for my Toshiba Thrive. The only reason that I didnt give it a 5 rating, is because of the plastic corners used to mount the tablet. Yes, they do work, and they are secure, but they are cumbersome, and actually add to the thickness. I took other reviewers advice and purchased velcro for the back corners of the tablet. I also put adhesive cloth tabs on the keyboard face. The velcro holds perfectly, and the tabs on the keyboard face protect the tablet screen. All in all, this is an excellent product, and I would recommend it 100% over any other wireless keyboard case available for the Thrive.
