3.0 out of 5 stars Good security, locks feel a bit cheap
I recently purchased a new iMac and external hard-drive as a back up and wanted a little extra secure feeling knowing that my stuff is bolted down. This product fit well as it is a twin-lock system. The cable itself is very stiff and pulls the external over if/when I tilt the iMac. The locks don't really fit as snug as I would like, they kinda feel like they aren't on...

I ordered this cable to protect two laptops at a time. The cable is thicker and stronger than other cables, and it has two locks, one at the end, and one slideable across the cable. I preferred this one above the ones with a four digit code, because it's not possible for a thief to cut the cable and try all the combinations at home. After lots of problems to order the cable at Kensington and another webstore, it was very easy to order it at Amazon. I had it shipped to a hotel while I was on a roundtrip in the USA, and it was delivered at the promised date. I'm really satisfied by both the cable and the reliability of Amazon.

It's a well made product at an excellent price. It'll keep both your screen and your laptop safe. It really saves you the trouble of gettin two, more steel cables, more inconvenience. I am using it with a new 13" macbook pro and it's great. The only disadvantage is that the cable follows the axis of the locking cylinder, which means you have a steel cable popping out of your laptop like an antenna. With the macbook pro it's on the right hand side, and I find myself bumping into the cable with my mouse .

I've never been inclinded to buy a computer lock before. I ordered this lock to deter a monitor "switch-a-roo" at work. Eventhough it is childish that this happens among adults, it does. Since my department spent budget money on my equipment I felt better with this cable attached to my monitors.
This twin keyed-alike cable is nice because I can lock both monitors with one device.....and unlock with one key. Just like any theft deterant...it is just a deterant at best. I imagine if someone REALLY wants your monitor they will find some way to get it. At least this device makes them work for it. The cable is long enough to get both monitors and loop under the desktop to a solid structure.
Make sure you don't forget to go to Kensington online and register your keys. In case you eventually need to replace one.

I purchased this lock so I could safely secure 2 backup external hard drives with a single cable. The lock is used at a university laboratory where items can be stolen. The locks and cable work great and this will make it a little more challenging for a thief to steal our hard drives. I would recommend this product.

Works as advertised--easy to lock and unlock. Looks secure. The bonus is that it is much longer than I expected (maybe 6 feet long?) so I was able to secure it to a hook below my desk and minimize cables on my desktop.

It's not Fort Knox but as far as cable locks for computer peripherals go this is definitely one of the better ones, and it locks down two devices. The cable is thicker and highly visible. This should help to deter someone from walking off with your laptop and other devices.

I bought this for a laptop and an external hard drive but it will work with any unit that has a standard security slot.

Note: It is possible to pick nearly any type lock so always lock your laptop in a drawer or take it home with you if you can. I had a brand new Cannon digital Elf disappear from my desk in a secure building with armed security because I left it there one weekend. I kept it in a small vinyl case that wasn't even a camera case so someone had to actually investigate it to find out there was a camera inside.

Even though it's a tubular lock and can easilyl be picked (search on youtube how to do it under 20 seconds) it is one of the better locks and cables on the market.
It has a nice solid feel to it, bright and very visible which will hopefully act as a deterrent and allows you to secure 2 devices with 1 cable.

Bought this for college. It locks up my monitor and laptop. Couldn't ask for any less hassle. It locks and unlocks within 3ish seconds. The rubber helps a lot since I'm anal about my macbook pro. The locking mechanism isn't stuck to the kensington port like the other kind.

Nice high quality lock. Make it easy to lock up two devices, and makes me feel a lot more comfortable leaving my expensive electronics behind

The cable itself is very stiff and pulls the external over if/when I tilt the iMac. The locks don't really fit as snug as I would like, they kinda feel like they aren't on properly. The cable, however, is very long. I would recommend this product for larger, heavier items that don't move often... like for DVRs, DVD players, etc.
