Great for what it is
Just got this lock, and am very happy with it. Fits onto my nu HP seamlessly. Lock has gotten a bad rap from other reviewers because of unrealistic expectations in my opinion. I'm sure cable can be snapped easily, probably even with heavy-duty scissors. It's no vault, but is a deterrent to a would-be strong-armed robber, and should give you some piece of mind...

Thief friendly
Having owned this product for a few months i was happy and convinced of it's security, mainly for its stopping of the opportunistic thief. But i was convinced that it would halt somebody more determined.... This was where i let a cocky kid with a pair of pliers have a go at cutting through the cable. Having owned this product for a few months i was happy and convinced of it's security, mainly for its stopping of the opportunistic thief. Result - good for the look of security, bad if your local hoodlum has pliers on them. Gutted.

Just got this lock, and am very happy with it. Fits onto my nu HP seamlessly.
Lock has gotten a bad rap from other reviewers because of unrealistic expectations in my opinion. I'm sure cable can be snapped easily, probably even with heavy-duty scissors. It's no vault, but is a deterrent to a would-be strong-armed robber, and should give you some piece of mind when you leave it on the table for a few minutes when you go to the bathroom at Starbucks. That's it. It's excellent for that purpose and nothing more. If you need more of a lock, absolutely don't buy this.

My laptop got stolen. They cut the cable with a kitchen knife. Fortunatelly we got the thief and my laptop.
