4.0 out of 5 stars Small with great trackability
I've been using a few logitech wireless mice and this is my first non-logictech. I'm mostly satisfied.
PROS:
1) slim and fits nicely into a laptop bag.
2) takes AAA batteries, not AA. Many new small mice now take AA, which make them so heavy.
3) lasts 3+ months using rechargable batteries, also has low battery indicator
4) tracks all surfurce...

3.0 out of 5 stars Three buttons only
Kensington SlimBlade Notebook Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver

This mouse has only three buttons although the scroll wheel has three contacts (i.e. down, left and right). I could not program the wheel right and wheel left clicks into "back" and "forward" function keys as I did with my Logitech mouse. It is a big limitation in my use case.

4) tracks all surfurce well, even shinny surface and uneven surface. My logitech mice don't do well at all on such surface and I have to use mouse pad for them. I don't like using mouse pads. This Kensington can go everywhere without a mouse pad. This item makes it 4 star instead of 3.

CONS:
1) the buttons and roller are a little bit harder than logitech. I slightly prefer the logitech's touch.
2) the ergonomic issue people are complaining is 70% true. If you are used to a fat mouse, this one will feel strange. However, if you like to lay your hand flat, it'll be comfortable enough. I like using it on my bed or sofa curshion and just relax my hand on it. The relatively hard buttons make it harder to press with your hand laying flat, but it's still not too bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Mouse. Only One Problem, September 17, 2009
By
This review is from: Kensington SlimBlade Notebook Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver (K72334US) (Personal Computers)
I bought this mouse from Kensington because I had been using an earlier model mouse of theirs which had a couple of cons but otherwise worked beautifully. If fact I used it for probably 4 years before finally upgrading to this one. I upgraded because this mouse was too was heavy, using two AA batteries and two, because the long USB cable and large receiver(which was about half the size of the mouse). The size of the nano receiver and how light this mouse is are two of the things I love the most.

PROS:
1. Unlike other reviewers I actually like the form factor. It took a little getting used to but I found that it forced me to actually relax my hand rather than requiring more of a grip with other mice(larger form factor also = more weight). I often work long hours and don't find it to be a problem. With other heavier mice my hand and wrist would eventually become fatigued.
2. No mouse pad required. I just slide it across a smooth IKEA desk which actually requires less overall effort on my part because I am not fighting working against the friction of a mouse pad. It even works on the arm of a leather chair I like to park myself in in my living room.

CONS:
1. The mouse died after about 6 months(similar to another reviewer). I am prone to drop things(this mouse being one of them several times) so I am not sure how much I contributed to its' demise. I like this mouse enough that I am going to give it one more shot and buy a new one. I have been holding off for the last couple of months but have been missing it so much I don't want to wait any longer. I will update this review if the new one dies which would definitely be a big disappointment. Otherwise my take on it is that every manufacturer puts out some lemons. Think laptops and Windows ME or Vista.

Unlike other reviewers I don't find tracking to be a problem. One reviewer noted that the tracking was too fast. That is why there are preferences for a mouse where you can adjust the tracking to a speed that works for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kensington SlimBlade Notebook Wireless Mouse, May 5, 2009

I absolutely love this mouse. Can't get my hands off of it.
Its very small and goes perfectly with my slim laptop.
Even though it is very small, it does not hurt the hard or wrist after awhile like other mice. because it is very flat and almost level with the surface.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very fine netbook mouse, September 5, 2009
This review is from: Kensington SlimBlade Notebook Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver (K72334US) (Personal Computers)
When I received my Acer Netbook I knew I'd soon be looking for a mouse. And that's because I've never liked touchpads all that much. I also knew I didn't want a typical mouse because they are too bulky. Most of them are about twice as thick as the netbook. When I found the SlimBlade Notebood Wireless Mouse -- especially with its nano receiver -- I was in 'hog heaven'. I'm finding that I can leave the nano receiver plugged into my netbook all the time with no problem. The mouse works perfectly, and the battery life appears to be excellent too - even when I don't switch the power off on the bottom of the mouse. -- My only complaint, and the reason I gave it four stars, is because the front edge of the mouse is a little too thick, and slightly interferes with me being able to easily actuate the left or right mouse button -- thus, when I think I've clicked it, the click doesn't 'take'. I'm finding that I'm slowly getting more accurate with the clicks as time goes on. Other than that minor problem, the mouse is attractive, well built, and high quality. Would I buy it again? Yes indeed! --- By the way, I own three other cordless mice -- all Logitech -- one of them being a Notebook mouse, but none of them is as thin and handy as the Kensington Slimblade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price, Great Item!, April 15, 2009

I bought this for my new Macbook and I am glad that I made the decision to purchase this mouse instead of another mouse from Apple. This mouse is very light (Apple mouse is very heavy), easy to use and was well worth the price. The only thing to watch out for is the sensitivity of the laser; that's something that I need to get used to. Other than that, you open the box, plug the receiver into the USB port, insert the batteries, and use the mouse immediately!

I am very happy about this purchase and would recommend this mouse over the Apple mouse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mouse, Runs Like a Champ, November 2, 2009

This review is from: Kensington SlimBlade Notebook Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver (K72334US) (Personal Computers)
This mouse was an absolutely fantastic addition to my ASUS EEE PC 1000HE because it goes anywhere and is not bulky at all. Even though, at first, it seemed to be just a bit flat for my hand, i have gotten used to it and now i often push my desktop mouse to the side and plug the microreciever into my computer. Also, being a college age teen, i love practical jokes. This mouse works from about 40 feet away, in the middle of our lecture row, and plugged under the lip of my professor's laptop. He couldn't find the reciever, and we got to play with his powerpoint for an hour and a half! An absolutely fantastic mouse, and did i mention it works on EVERYTHING i've tried it on so far (except glass), rugs, jeans, chairs, polished stone, black slate, laminated wood... the list keeps going.

Good job Kensington!

I own both the top line Kensington wireless mouse and this kensington wireless smaller mouse. The other top line wireless mouse uses AA batteries and this wireless mouse uses AAA batteries. They both work great.

This is a great little mouse. A little different feel, but you get used to it. I bought it so I could leave the receiver in my comp and toss the mouse in a side pocket of my backpack. That's just what i do. Ultra portable, ultra light. If your looking for a mouse on the go, go with this one!
