2.0 out of 5 stars Consumer Beware, June 15, 2011
This review is from: Kensington SmartSockets K62634 6-Outlets Surge Suppressor - Receptacles: 6 x NEMA 5-15R - 1500J (Personal Computers)
The authentic K62634 surge protector of Kensington has a clamping voltage (UL 1449) rating of 330V. The items I received that were apparently sold by Amazon.com (as opposed to the vendor above) had a clamping voltage rating of only 400V even though it had Kensington's same manufacturer number. Many of the manufacturers (e.g. APC, TrippLite) do the same thing in that they sell slightly lower-grade models with the same part numbers as their higher-grade models on Amazon at lower prices. Beware! Buy your surge protecters from other sources than Amazon. Otherwise, it is hit and miss.
