I love this mouse. It fits my medium small hand comfortably and is great on battery life so far. It's not overly responsive and jerky like lasers seem to be. This one gives me very smooth performance.

I love this mouse. It fits my medium small hand comfortably and is great on battery life so far. It's not overly responsive and jerky like lasers seem to be. This one gives me very smooth performance.
It has a "shut off" tab under the mouse belly, but if you slide the USB key into it, it also shuts it off. If you hibernate it shuts off, but immediately turns back on when your computer does. I like the rubberized finger and palm areas much better than my Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000. The only drawback is that this wireless notebook unit doesnt have thumb button and that's why I ended up buying the Microsoft 6000. I miss that particular feature. Funny think is though, I seem to use the Kensington 90% of the time anyway. The M6000 is lighter since it only uses 1 battery, but it chews through them like crazy, and my hand just doesnt feel comfortable in the curved finger slots and palm rest, the grip area seem slippery, and since it's a laser, is a little to sensative for my taste. I also like the Kensington's center scroll button musch better. It clicks with each finger movement, where the Microsoft is a smooth rolling and you tend to overshoot when you scroll. That's why I keep going back to the Kensington.
You can go to Kensington's site and download their software if you want to. Otherwise, just insert the two batteries ( I like how they are hidden) plug in the USB key and off you go.
I would recommend this product and purchase it again in a heartbeat.
ONE FINAL NOTE.... everyone who complains about lack of distance/reception
must be plugging the USB key into the back of their laptops. I have mine plugged into the side port and can still get reception from 10 feet away. Plugged into the back....I might get 3 feet. But who cares... how far away from the screen are you when you use your mouse? A couple inches???

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome mouse!, June 13, 2007
This review is from: Kensington Ci65m Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse for PC or Mac K72267US (Personal Computers)
I purchased this mouse for my MacBook I recently bought and I couldn't be more happier with it. It's very comfortable and responsive. I just took it out the package, inserted the included batteries, plugged in the USB receiver, and was using it in seconds! I also like the feature of sliding the USB receiver onto the base of the mouse when I'm not using it since it activates a switch that turns the mouse off to preserve battery life. This also makes it very efficient for traveling since I don't have to hunt for the mouse and the USB receiver separately - they're hooked together. Very nice! Also, when I remove the USB receiver...the mouse automatically comes on & is ready for use.

So, I highly recommend this peripheral if you're looking for a portable mouse for your notebook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stellar performance in a tiny package., October 11, 2007

There seem to be a lot of women rating this mouse since it is a bit on the small size.

However, I can say, as a man, that this mouse is fine for those with medium to large hands as well.

I've never been one for resting my palm on my mouse. As such, overall size doesn't matter. (is it weird having a man say that?) What does matter to me is responsiveness and grip-ability. This mouse has both. With the same mouse settings as my previous wired mouse, this one has the pointer zipping across the screen a bit quicker. And the textured rubberized sides make gripping very easy.

Sheer bonuses for me are the heft and controls. Once the batteries are installed, this little mouse has some weight. It may look like a toy, but it sure doesn't feel like one. And the controls... The mouse wheel rolls easily but has an audible and tactile click as your scroll. The mouse buttons (also rubberized) each have their own distinctive tone when clicked. The clicks themselves don't take too much force, but the click itself easily lets you know when you've hit home.

This mouse fits my needs perfectly: portable, wireless, sturdy and responsive. I couldn't be happier.

Never Comment on Pruducts, But This Mouse Deserves It. I've had a Mac G4 for like 6-7 years, and I have gone thru about 4 mice, and this one tops them all. It's easy to use, has no problems, and is appealing to the eyes and hands. Thanks!!!

Easy to use and small enough for my small hand! I like the non skid surface on both top and sides, makes it easy to grip.

No setup or software required on my mac - just plugged it in and it was ready to go

This review is from: Kensington Ci65m Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse for PC or Mac K72267US (Personal Computers)
It touches very comfortably and really easy to use.

But its defects are also very obvious. Sometimes (although the frequency is low) it loses control, you need re-configuration through software or unpluging signal receiver to make it works well again. The most unsatisfactory facet is that battery is consumed too fast. Maybe 2 months at most, not one year as the company boasts.

I was skeptical at first about the Kensington mouse due to the extremely affordable price. After reading reviews, I decided to give it a try and I have been very happy with my decision to purchase it.
