Well-designed wrist rest,

After trying two other wrist rests, this is the one that works for me. It is very comfortable to use for long periods of time, which was not the case with the others I tried. The shape is different (more rounded) than it appears in the photograph. I have posted a photo of the one I received, which is more rounded in shape. The oval part where the wrist rests is very soft and comfortable, and is positioned at an angle. Even though it may look different, it actually works very well. I couldn't be more pleased with this item.

Due to work related injuries and being on the computer half the day my wrist kills me. After comparing prices and reading reviews I ended up purchasing this mouse pad. I was worried that I was being too cheap and should have spent extra money and gotten a mouse pad described for people with wrist issues. Since I got this mouse pad it never hurts while being on the computer. It's my only moment of relief during the day. It also works with my laser mouse which I was always concerned about since it didn't state whether or not they were compatible. I am glad I went the cheap route this mouse pad is great. It's larger than I expected though. I am now considering the keyboard pad for the ultimate experience.

Kensington Wrist Pillow Mouse Pad - A Good Product For General Computer Use,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kensington Wrist Pillow Mouse Pad with Wrist Rest in Blue (L57803US) (Office Product)
The Kensington Wrist Pillow Mouse Pad with Wrist Rest is a good product that is best for stationary mousers who do general or detailed work. The main consideration is the relatively small usable surface area due to the placement of the wrist rest. But if you turn the mouse pad at an angle, you can slightly compensate for that and give yourself a larger area to work with. PROS: ++ Comfortable wrist rest, softer than most others ++ Base provides stable desktop placement ++ Surface works well for mousing (I've only tried it with laser and optical mice) ++ Durability, at least for me, seems to be good relative to other user complaints (6 ++ months at the time of this review) ++ Trains you to move your wrist less, likely helping to prevent future repetitive stress injuries CONS: -- Usable surface area is smaller than advertised due to the placement of the wrist rest; turn at an angle to compensate -- Won't likely relieve wrist pain you already have; use a brace and seek medical help if pain persists DESIGN & USAGE The shape of this mouse pad and the placement of the wrist rest allows for a very small area to move your mouse. That's bound to be a deal breaker for many people. But for me, I found that the usable area, while small, was enough to make this effective. More importantly, it forced me to keep my wrist more stationary, reducing pain I used to feel from extended use. The wrist rest is very comfortable. It feels less-firm than most of the rests on alternative products. Depending on your preferences, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. For me, it aids in the comfort of using this product. I can also report that the surface of the mouse and the wrist rest has stayed intact after more than 6 months of use. I don't know if that's aided by the fact that all my mice are either laser or optical. Once again, in my case there was no flaking at the edges or anywhere else. PAIN RELIEF Users who are seeking relief from existing pain caused by repetitive stress or other injuries such as carpel tunnel syndrome or tendinitis should consult a specialist first. While I am no doctor, this seems like it is best designed to prevent one from developing such a problem rather than relieving pain once you already have it. A wrist brace such as the ACE Right Wrist Brace with Splint Support is bound to be more effective at relieving pain over a few weeks by helping you immobilize your wrist long enough for it to heal. CONCLUSION This mouse pad is great for those who do a lot of stationary work and want the added comfort and support of a wrist rest. This is not likely to be as good for speedy users who plan to use it during gaming and the like. There are plenty of good composite pads for that purpose. The Razer Vespula Gaming Mouse Mat has an integrated wrist rest and may be an acceptable compromise for some users. But for the general office user, this is a good product. Enjoy.

Foam wrist support breaks down quickly,
By Jason (DC) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Kensington Wrist Pillow Mouse Pad with Wrist Rest in Blue (L57803US) (Office Product)
At first when I bought this I thought it was pretty good - it was reasonably comfortable, has a nice non-skid backing and a nice blue tone to it. However, as the product description clearly states, it is a FOAM mouse pad. After only a few weeks, the foam lost its structure. Now the middle portion feels like there is an empty cavity there, almost like it is hollow. After only a month, there is substantially less support and it feels increasingly uncomfortable. In addition, the angle of the wrist pillow on the pad is unnatural - at least for me. I would prefer if it was straight on. This was not very noticeable at first, but this feature is an additional source of discomfort. I only bought this a month ago, but now I am going to put it in my drawer and replace it with a mouse pad with a GEL wrist support from Staples. In summary, this mouse pad would be adequate if you apply minimal pressure on your wrist as you use the mouse and don't need much support. But for most of those that do, I would advice going for a gel wrist support instead.

This pad helps a lot for my sore wrist. It should be noted that it is not the same shape as in product the picture. The one delivered is oval and has an oval wrist rest, but seems to work fine. A little arthritis has settled in and the gel pad is extremely comfortable. Good quality for the price.

What a drag. This mouse pad isn't even a month old and the fabric cover is pulling up at the edge.

I was beginning to get this embarrassing knot under my wrist from pressing down against the desk while surfing the 'net. I've had this about a week now, and the knot is gone (thankfully). This mouse pad is a solid royal blue, not so bright as to be distracting, but still colorful enough to be attractive, not dull like the old freebie blue mouse pads. The gel is firm, and holds up my wrist just enough to avoid pressure. Black foam on the back keeps it from slipping too. A secondary feature is that I use mine to cushion small items that need to be worked on without scratching (think eyeglasses, iPods, cellphones, etc...)and it cushions them while holding them steadier than your lap or a towel.

I purchased the oval mouse pad with wrist rest in blue. The rest is the perfect size and softness for comfort. Very well made.

Perfect softness for the wrist, yet still offers support. My very picky husband is thrilled with this mouse pad.

This mouse pad is OK, but it is actually only 10 X 8 inches instead of the 12.8 x 9 inches listed in the description, which must be the size of the package it comes in. The actual pad is also a different shape than the one pictured. I had Amazon send me a replacement, but it was still only 8 X 10 inches.
