Product Description

Amazon.com

Proving that great things come in small packages, the Kent Mini 8 folding bike is an ideal space-saving choice for people with small homes yet big expectations. The Mini 8 is outfitted with such standard bike features as a strong aluminum alloy frame, a one-speed dual chain drive, front and rear linear pull brakes, and alloy wheels. However, the bike distinguishes itself from the crowd through its folding frame and adjustable-height seat and handlebars.

Thanks to the unique collapsible design, you can ride this bike to the commuter train, and then quickly fold the frame and haul it along to work. And when you get home, you can easily store the bike in a closet or corner of the room. The bike measures only 28 by 16 by 23 inches (W x H x D) when folded and weighs 26 pounds--roughly the size and weight of an airport carry-on. Plus, it takes only 20 seconds or so to fold the bike, seat, handlebars, and pedals. Other features include 8-inch balloon tires, a chrome steel handle post and seat post, and a maximum rider height of 6 feet. The Mini 8 measures 45 by 54 by 15 inches when unfolded.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun novelty bike but impractical September 27, 2010
By Nephtis
This is a very fun little novelty bike that is well made and sturdy but it is geared so low that it is completely impractical for actual use as a commuter bike. The rider must peddal constantly just to maintain brisk walking speed. However, it is a blast to ride around the house or the neighborhood and you'll definitely get some looks, especially if you lower the handlebars and seat all the way. It is a fun novelty but not for someone looking for an actual commuter bike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun to ride, exceed my expectation June 3, 2011

It rides like a regular bike, it might not look like one:). The saddle might need to be replaced for more comfortable seating. I was told these bikes would be harder to balance because of its small wheels, but it's perfectly fine. I feel pretty safe on it. For the price it is amazing. I bought this so I can bring it to different places and ride around for fun. It's not the fastest bike but it is faster than you think. I dont think it's the easiest to fold or lightest to carry around so if you are looking to ride
it to the bus station or subway and take it with you everyday, I say forget it unless you don't mind the hassle or carrying 26lbs all day. There's a bike out there called 'A-bike' that might be good for this purpose with half of its weight. However I think it's sold for a lot more. This is a great deal! Make sure you put air in the tires before rocking on it. You don't have to be a circus clown to ride it. It's pretty smooth and a lot of fun!

4.0 out of 5 stars not so bad August 6, 2011

This bike is not so bad. It does ride just like a regular bike though you do have to pedal a lot more because of the 8in wheels. It is a fun bike to ride around the neighborhood in, riding it for long periods of time wouldn't be ideal though. I would have to say its a pretty good commuter bike if you don't live or work so far from the train or bus station. For the most part it is a fun novelty bike to ride around in. Serious bike riders and bike commuters that want more speed will probably have to pass on this. But all and all a fun awesome bike to have specially when you do not have a lot of space in your apartment.
