Good solid bike, well made, heavy due to the suspension parts, decent firm travel on the front/fork suspension, adjustable on the rear suspension by turning a knob.

Not sure what the deal is with bike sizing. My son is almost 9 quite average size for his age and this bike says its for 6-9 year olds. Its really too big for him. I can only think of a handful of kids out of the ~100 or so in his grade that are taller than he is, but with the seat all the way down he can't even touch the ground with his tip toes. Also, with the seat all the way down you get a little conflict between the bottom of the seat post and the 'stop' for the rear suspension...I had to bump the seat up about 3/4" to prevent it from hitting at full travel.

Gears shift smoothly, etc. Nicely made bike other than it having geometry that seems to favor kids that are closer to 5'+ tall than 4-4.5', being a few lbs heavier from the suspension, etc. No problems putting it together or adjusting everything, if you're at least somewhat familiar with bike maintenance. Might be a little challenging if you've never put a bike together or adjusted one before. Had to look at the pics on how the front brake went together for a while before I figured it out.

My son is 7.
We rode it today. 30 degrees where I live but sunny and no wind. He's been waiting since Christmas. I have read other reviews and was a little cautious but here is my opinion. This bike represents an amazing value. My older son and I like to ride but I had to push my younger sons bike up hills because he couldn't make it. We specifically bought this bike for that reason. As for assembly it was very, very easy. I got a little confused with the brake cables but nothing too dramatic. Just had to think it through a bit. The bike is really handsome in color.it comes highly assembled. It took me as long to unpack as it did to assemble. Probably 15 minutes to unpack and 20 to assemble.
It rode flawlessly the first time. My son is slight of build. He shifted back and forth from low to high gears many many times with zero effort. I rode next to him and watched. No trouble. He can easily switch to lower gears to make it up a hill. Both brakes work perfectly as well. It has (I think) a total of 3 shock absorbing centers. The front forks, the frame and the seat area. You could ride this bike off road just like a mountain bike. Highly shock absorbent. So I am 100% pleased with this bike in every aspect. Now here is my only complaint. When his hands are on the handlebars, the distance that he has to reach his fingers to reach the handbrakes is too long. However, he was able to use them and I am not very concerned. Just think it should be shorter for a young persons hand. Having said that, it looks like even that part may be adjustable. Just too chilly to fool around with it right now. We had a great ride and we both love this bike. I went back and read others complaints. Lots of complaints about brake assembly. Look, here's the deal.

I just bought this bike for my, soon to be 7 year old. It is a very nice bike at the $119 price.
It was easy to assemble and I am not handy.
My son loves his new bike. He has gears and shocks so he is the riding high.
I would say this is a well made bike. The bike did come with a kick stand which good.

The bike looks really good, the fit and finish are decent. I bought it for my eight year old. We take family rides, and dad, mom, and older brother all have bikes with gears, so he had a hard time keeping up. The rear derailleur did require a bit of adjustment. It's not a Shimano set, but it's a hundred dollar bike. After some adjusting, it works fairly well, gear shifts are mostly smooth. The brakes had to be adjusted a little bit. Nothing too difficult. I guess the acid test is whether my son likes it or not, and he does...a lot.

I purchased this for my 6-year old son, who is on the shortish side and it fits him well. He can just barely turn the gears, which is fine really. The bike came well packaged with no noticeable damage. Putting it together was fairly simple, thought the instructions are NOT model-specific and contain a number of different installation options depending on your model.
One thing that was noticeably absent that always helps me when putting something together, is a good photo of the finished product. There's a drawing of one in the instructions, but that's not terribly helpful.

****MY ONE COMPLAINT****
When trying to mount the handlebars in the steering column, I loosened the *whatever you call it* but was having a lot of trouble getting the stem down into the frame. After studying it, I realized the large hex nut on the frame was cross-threaded. There's very little clearance there anyway and so when they cross-threaded the hex nut, it reduced any left-over space in the hole where the handlebar stem inserts in the frame neck. Luckily, I was able to get the nut off, insert the stem into the frame and tighten down the cross-threaded hex nut. It appears solid, but it irks me that it came from the factory like that. It's an easy thing to do, but even easier NOT to do.
