Every fourth grader in the state should own a copy of this book., December 7, 2006
This review is from: Kentucky: The Bluegrass State (World Almanac Library of the States) (Paperback)
A full-colored forty-page book filled with maps, fact boxes, charts, graphs, photos, and other illustrations. All this supports the information bringing life to the information, which otherwise would be a dry list of facts and figures. The book covers almost every imaginable topic significant to Kentucky politics, culture, economy, history and much more.
Topics covered are: an almanac of fast facts, history, people, land, economy and commerce, politics and government, culture and lifestyle, notable people, time line, state events and attractions, and places to find even more information.
This is a great reference book. While there is a lot of text, it is fast-paced book cleverly broken up by the full color illustrations. Quotes and facts are used expertly to spice up the pages and bring life to the text.
