The title "The Kentucky Bourbon Experience" might lead one to believe this book is just about bourbon. It is much more. It is also a tribute to the beauty of Kentucky's landscape. I bought this book to share with friends who are visiting for the Derby, and found I was captivated by the photos of the bourbon industry and regions in which they are found. I grew up in Kentucky and love those unforgettable but fleeting images of a sunrise over a lake or an early morning mist across our "bluegrass" hills. The photographs capture those moments. In addition to the photos, the book provides a well written history of the bourbon industry. Everyone, lifelong resident or visitor, will appreciate this walk through Kentucky's bourbon country.

I was blown away by the gorgeous photography in this book. The book showcases not just the distilleries, but the areas and towns around them. From dawn to dusk, this book captures the daily richness and cultural uniqueness of Kentucky. Bourbon is part of the Kentucky heritage. While Kentucky collegiate sports remains dynamic, and horse racing a constant drive for perfection, it is our Kentucky Bourbon heritage that fully spans Kentucky's timeline. This book is a historian's mark for others to meet. Well written and magnificently photographed, Leon Howlett has produced a book for everyone to enjoy and treasure.

This is a very nice compilation of images of the Bourbon Trail. The text is informative and well written. In this time of everything electronic, This is a wonderful book to hold and spend an lazy hour with, imagining the sounds and smells of Kentucky evenings in and around the fine old distilleries of Kentucky. I have to admit, I didn't make it halfway though with out dusting off a bottle of Barrel Reserve and having a double, with a single chunk of ice. Great book, with or without bourbon....
