Amazon.com Product Description

The Kenwood HTB-S620DV Wireless Fineline Gaming Home Theater System is the ultimate gaming home theater system, with features like powerful surround speakers, front-panel game A/V input, automatic game box selection and dual-source/single-zone operation -- all without the trouble of wires! It plays DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, VCD, CD, CD-R/RW and MP3/WMA-encoded CD-R/RW discs. This system will turn any room of your home into your own personal gaming mega-theater loaded with sound and excitement.

The World of Wireless Connectivity
Forget about tripping over wires or spending a ton on pricey, custom in-wall wiring. With the HTB-S620DV you can freely arrange your speakers with the help of wireless technology. The two wireless, rear surround speakers can be conveniently placed up to 100 feet away from the transmitter -- with wireless you can put your speakers where you want, not just where they fit along the wall! The revolutionary Radio Frequency (RF) transmitter and separate receiver eliminate the standard AC plugs of conventional wireless systems in lieu of advanced wireless noise reduction circuitry. Interference and background noises are gone, leaving you a crisp, snow-free channel. And when you're not using surround sound, the auto on/off feature automatically shuts off the speakers.

Cinema-quality Sound at Home
To provide a convincing and realistic sound field, the A/V receiver unlocks audio sound formats from VHS, DVD, and stereo sources with Dolby Digital EX. This gives improved sound direction and delivers back-surround sound through the speakers for a fuller, 360-degree sonic experience.

Cutting-edge DTS-ES Surround uses multi-channel technology to maximize the five channels of DTS through the included speakers. The two front satellite speakers, two rear wireless surround speakers, and the center speaker all feature 120-watts of power and 2.75-inch full-range drivers (the center speaker features dual drivers). Dolby Pro Logic IIx processing provides increased detail, precision, and more intense bass that transforms ordinary two-channel music (like CDs and radio broadcasts) into 5.1 channels, putting you in the middle of full surround sound that's not available with other systems.

For optimal clarity, the A/V receiver delivers 100 watts to each sonically-matched front speaker and center channel for clear detail in soundtrack and music scores. The separate wireless RF receiver, with a built-in digital amplifier, sends two channels (50 watts each) to the two rear wireless surround speakers for the wrap-around sound you desire. The separate six-inch subwoofer adds room-filling depth with its built-in 100 watt amplifier. The result is smoother, deeper bass tones to complete your audio thrill. Finally, with digital bass management, bass boost, and five audio DSP listening modes you can tailor settings to your personal selections.

Stylish, Easy-to-setup Home Theater
The HTB-S620DV home theater looks as clean as it sounds with a sleek, silver design that compliments most plasma displays. It has enclosed speakers with built-in brackets for wall mounting. To build on the theme of arrangement flexibility, the speakers are also video-shielded, which means you can place them next to your television set without picture distortion or damage to the tube.

The package includes a digital tuner with 40 station presets and automatic or manual tuning and a Kenwood remote control. With one digital optical and two coaxial digital audio inputs, you can maximize your sound potential. You can connect the include progressive scan DVD player using one of the three component A/V inputs while using the others to plug in items such as the cable box. The front panel AV/AUX composite input connection allows you easy plug-in access, while the three video inputs in back let you conveniently leave connected the components you use all the time, such as the TV, VCR, or your favorite gaming console. All your home entertainment and gaming devices will come together in one awesome system with the help of the HTB-S620DV.

What's in the Box

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite Pleased, September 21, 2005
This review is from: Kenwood HTB-S620DV Wireless Fineline Gaming Home Theater System (Electronics)
We installed the system 3 weeks ago. The rear wireless speakers work well and are the main reason we purchased this product over others - the design of our family room does not allow wires to cross it. The system also has lots of inputs and outputs -- we wanted to be able to add a VCR for our kids' videos and be able to hook on an external video camera. Both connected well. During set-up, however, some more detailed directions that explain the various connections would be helpful. We wanted to use our own 5 disc DVD/CD player instead of the single DVD player that came with the system and installing this was not as simple as we had hoped. Getting this to work required a couple of trips to Radio Shack and about $45 in additional cables. Hooking up all of the other components, however, was straightforward. Overall, we are very pleased with the product. Those who purchase the system and stick to the pieces they give you will probably be even more pleased.

4.0 out of 5 stars wireless?, July 24, 2006
This review is from: Kenwood HTB-S620DV Wireless Fineline Gaming Home Theater System (Electronics)
I received this package thinking that "wireless" meant close to or very few wires. I was let down as soon as the package was opened--I saw many wires! A friend helped me put the system together, and, after we were finished, he told me his ordinary, run-of-the-mill surround sound system had the same number of wires! In fact, he recanted his original statement and said that my Kenwood system had more than his junk-Aiwa! This sytem is not "wireless;" the system does, however, "relocate" the obvious wires that ordinarily stretch across the room. This enables the buyer/listener to avoid the unpleasant sight of cross-wires. On a more pleasant note, this is Kenwood, guys, and the sound is magnificent! I am still pleased with everything even though "wireless" is fudging the truth.
