I purchased this cable thinking it was a real Kenwood KCA-IP301V iPod cable. It is not. After installation of my new stereo with this cable I was having intermittent connecting issues. Talking to Crutchfield and others suggested a bad cable. I then purchased a new Kenwood KCA-IP301V iPod cable from Crutchfield, installed it, and have had no issues. The cable ordered from Crutchfield was a Kenwood cable and it worked perfectly.

This looks to me like false advertising.

Buyer beware, I purchased this a month ago and was surprised to find out (after destroying one ipod and hours of investigation because it would not work with any of the three other ipods I owned) that the cable sent to me was a cheap knock off. The model number and layout is clearly designed to create confusion as to the manufacturer of the cable. The advertisement and picture clearly represent Kenwood as the manufacturer. I, like many others was tricked into buying this item from discounts jungle only to learn that it is NOT the kenwood made cable and will not work with any units outside of providing sound. Buy straight from kenwood if you want the real cable.

This is NOT a Kenwood cable and DOES NOT work. After months of thinking the lack of ipod connection was our stereo and after attempting to sell the stereo with no success my husband decided to take it to be "fixed". Turns out it wasn't the stereo all along it was the fake "Kenwood" cable we were sold that was causing all the problems. Once connected to an authentic Kenwood cable there weren't any connection/ipod control problems. I would definitely not purchase again nor recommend.

I bought the cable from Discount Jungle and it is a worthless knock-off. This is outrageous and I really hope Amazon do something about it. Please don't buy from this guys and save yourself from the embarrassment.

Like many others I was sucked into buying this cable thinking it was a real Kenwood product. It is a fake! Don't buy it. I replaced this cable with a certified Kenwood cable and all of my problems instantly went away. Before replacing the cable I could not play anything with my KVT-696 via the iPod cable. It would lock up my KVT-696, constantly flip on and off with the iPod. In a couple of cases it even caused my Kenwood to crash and reboot (like it was shorting out.).. Don't buy this product!! If I could give a -1 Start I would!

Well, I learned a lesson. ALWAYS read the reviews before buying on Amazon! Despite being labeled as a Kenwood product, this is NOT a Kenwood cable, and it does NOT work. I was able to connect an older iPod classic, and if I used the iPod to play music, it would come out of the speakers, but I could not control the iPod using the stereo, which is the whole point. When I connected by iPod Touch 4G, it would run through a connect/disconnect cycle a couple times per second. It was useless. When I called about receiving a defective cable, he said he would send me a new one, and I could throw the old one away. Two weeks later, after he sent the cord to the wrong address and had it returned, I finally got a replacement. Same problem. I sent a message and told him I would just like a refund so I don't waste more time. He refunded my money (the only reason he gets 1 star), and commented that he had sold over 1000 of these, and only had 10 defective cables. What are the odds that I happened to get 2 defective cables out of the 1000 he sold? I suspect that most, if not all, of the cables don't work properly, but most people didn't take the time to return them. I bought a REAL cable somewhere else, and it works great.

I spent hours tiring to get the Ipod to be read by the head unit swapping Ipods only have them lock up.I'm going to best buy now to pick up a real Kenwood Cable after reading all the other negative feedback.

This cable does not work with the in dash dvd unit KVT 7191DVD at all!. I found a couple of sites where they said that the head unit and the cable are compatibles, but it is no true!!!.
Please contact Kenwood customer service before buying any cable.

I recently ordered this cable from AceElectronix. When it arrived I installed and it did not work. It even nearly fried my battery on my iPhone with it's constant cycling of charging, not charging, charging, not charging. I contacted the seller and was told they would send me another cable and email me when it shipped. I asked if the cable was in stock currently and was told "yes, we have it in stock". I have not heard back from the seller and will never do business with AceElectronix again. The seller advertises the item as "by Kenwood" and in fact it is a knock off cable and will not work with the head units or iPhone/iPod. The cable is currently listed for $25.99 and you can pick up a real OEM Kenwood cable from your local big box yellow and blue electronics store for $29.99. Lesson learned to not try and save $4. Not worth the hassle.
