I could not be more pleased with this stereo.

Instal was easy. The wiring diagaram provided all of the nessasary information to instal quickly with the proper dash and harness kit.(sold seperatly)

The front usb port allows easy connection of iphone or ipod. The deck has built in ipod controls or you can hold the ipod button down to put it in manual mode and control returns to your ipod. A plus for me.

The adjustable color lighting is a nice feature, with many preset options as well as the ability to create your own color.

The basic controls of the unit are fairly simple and easy to learn. Ten min or so in your driveway should be enough to familiarize yourself with the operation of the stereo.

The three band EQ is a nice touch. A Pioneer unit I have of comperable price only has a two band EQ

The sound is clear and crisp through four Pioneer 5.25 inch speakers.

The only draw back is that the users manual is for four head units. You have to pay close attention when reading about the various controls.

I recomend this to anyone who is looking for an affordable upgrade from their factory stereo.

I bought this headunit to replace a previuos Kendwood one. Installation was a snap. It produces clear and rich sound. I paired it with a pair of Pioneer TS-A1072R front speakers and a pair of Pioneer TS-A1675R speakers in the back. I get a nice, balanced sound for in-car hearing.

What I like of this unit:
- USB Port
- Remote Control
- Ability to change unit's button colors to match dashboard's.
- Lot of options.

What I dislike of this unit:
- Only a pair of RCA output. KDC-355U has 3 pairs.

If you want to upgrade the stock headunit of your car, this one is a steal! Highly recommended

Honestly, if you're looking to play music off of a USB drive on this stereo, forget about it, throw it in the trash, and get something that actually has some measure of support for modern media:

- this stereo only supports USB 2.0, not USB 3.0
- it only reads devices formatted as FAT16 or FAT32
- since FAT32 filesystem only works for devices up to 32GB, that's the biggest drive you can use
- the stereo only allows a total of 255 folders (far from enough music to fill a 32GB drive)
- any deviation from bog-standard mp3 files will likely either freeze the device, make it blink the dreaded 'na file' message, or just simply skip that entire folder without any explanation
- you can skip ahead through tracks + folders than the device can buffer, resulting in a long wait while it catches up - more often than not, only skipping to the next file, rather than as far ahead as the number of times you pressed the button
- likewise, scanning through folders by spinning the knob is painfully slow - you can spin the knob a bunch of times, and only advance one or two folders

In short, USB playback on this device is s***, and I'm pretty thoroughly unhappy with it - I wish I would have spent this money on something that would actually work for me, rather than this long drawn out period of dissatisfaction and frustration. Do yourself a favour and get something else to put in your car.

I installed this cd player in a 2005 Pontiac sun fire using a factory single din installation kit i purchased from advanced auto parts. The install was very simple, plug and play if you purchase the correct wiring pigtail for your application it will make the job a a lot easier. In my application I had a gm car with no on star and an rds radio so i had to purchase a gm interference kit to retain the factory door chime and dash lights. All in all the operation of this cd player is very simple. We used it when we went on our drive to Las Vegas from Ohio and for a constant 15 hours straight of use each day the thing never seemed to overheat or stop working. The USB option is very cool i basically just pulled all of my music off of iTunes and off of windows media player then also transferred and ripped Cd's i had on my computer all to the usb drive. When you plug it in it recognizes the track information and it also recognizes mix Cd's as custom mixes. The color does change through like 5 or 6 different ones constantly which is a little annoying when your driving at night but I'm sure there is a way to turn this option off. The remote worked very well and the only thing that i did not like about this CD player was the seek buttons for am/fm radio don't let you go to your own frequency (for example you cant scroll from 93,1 to 93,2 to 93,3 it locates the channels automatically and tends to skip over some that I know of. I didn't use the i phone feature but I'm sure it works just as flawlessly as the USB option. Absolutely great price.

I choose 5 stars because of the look the fit and the quality! Only reason I really got this is for the aux ability. I love the how the color's on the radio changes periodically! The mini remote is an added bonus! Some radio's in the past temporarily shows the time but this one keep it on the display! Highly recommended!
