This unit is a great buy at less than $100. Tons of features, aux input works great has a separate volume for the aux input as well as switchable RCA jacks from full spectrum to sub woofer only with adjustable low pass filter. Remote is a little larger than i would like to see but it works great. Sound quality is very good and power output fantastic. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting to replace a factory unit or an older unit.

Receiver works great and does everything it says it does. Very easy to install and setup yourself. Gets good FM and great AM reception. Aux and mp3 features work flawlessly, although I have not tested the WMA function. Display looks somewhat dim against bright light, but that was not a big concern. Overall this unit makes an excellent replacement for a stock receiver. Not to mention the great price and brand name.

This was a nice replacement for my older Pioneer in my 1998 Chevy Silverado extended cab. An upgrade to new speakers (6 1/2" in the front and 6 x 9 in the back) was a major improvement! Nice, clean sound with very little distortion. Controls are very user friendly to the driver. Remote control is user friendly as well. Great receiver for the price!

I bought this for my shop. I live in the mountains & radio reception is weak to poor, even with a custom designed antenna. My experience is that car stereo's have a stronger receiver than household stereo's & it paid off. Hooked up to my custom antenna & a good 12 vdc supply, the reception is perfect & the cd player works perfect too.
I really thought the remote would be a joke for me. I was wrong, it's great !! Kenwood has a good reputation & this modestly priced little guy lives up to it.

As others have said about the Kenwood KDC-MP142, the price and output from this receiver makes this a great buy! I was only looking for something to plug my iPod directly into my in-dash unit but I got more than just that. I had an Eclipse Audio receiver (which I was not very happy with) and then put this Kenwood in and WOW what a difference. The sound is MUCH cleaner and gets much better reception from radio stations that I could not get very clearly with the previous unit. I had Polk Audio speakers installed with the old receiver and they are just now really getting full use of their potential with the Kenwood receiver. If I had it to do over I would have gotten a Kenwood or Alpine receiver like I should have to begin with. If you need a quality replacement (with an AUX plug for MP3 players to boot) for a factory unit or a less than stellar unit, give this one a shot.

WOW!!! I was just able to get my Kenwood KDC MP3 CD Receiver installed in my car and it was worth the wait!! It is a great piece of equipment. I feel like I am sitting in my living room. If you need a CD player for your car, this is it!!

but i got it ,this unit works way better than i expected. more features than i need and looks good to. sound is wonderful in my motorhome. i plug the tv into it and what a full sound. nice hearty remote. its worth 75 dollars . i think it will last a while

I'm very please with the Kenwood KDC-MP142 WMA/MP3 CD Receiver with Front Panel AUX Input and Remote Control.The radio stations come a lot more clear that with the original radio cassette that was in my blazer.The sound of songs on the radio or the dvd player are excellent. The remote control is a big plus.

I used the Kenwood to update the old radio/cassette desk in my aging Subaru. I didn't really expect any increase in performance, I just needed to be able to play CD's instead of the now-obsolete cassettes.
What a pleasant surprise! Even through the stock speakers, the sound quality and power output put my OEM unit to shame. I'm going to upgrade to sturdier speakers to absorb the extra wattage.
One caveat: You'll probably need to order the appropriate wiring harness to make this work in your particular car.
Given the sub-$100 price, this is one of the best values I've ever seen (or heard).
Highly recommended.
