Perfect for Bass loving people on a budget
on July 11, 2012
I still cant believe this sub is around. I bought this sub when I was 16 and I freakin loved it. I am now 23. It was in a large ported box. Kenwood subs sound like crap in a sealed box. If your a younger person on a very tight budget who mainly listens to Rap or Hip-hop, buy this sub, get a large ported box and get a amp that pushs around 350 watts. I would recomend the kicker 400.1 or something similar. I had a Power Acoustik 1200 watt amp. Which obviously didnt produce 1200 watts. It was more like 450 watts and this thing took it like a champ. Honestly, I tried to blow this sub after I was in the market for a CVR 15 and I couldnt do it. When I had this sub I rarely listened to anything other than Rap so I couldnt tell you how it sounded with any other kind of music. But this thing will POUND. But I cant stress enough it has to be in the perfect sitution as far as box and amp goes. I now have a Rockford Fosgate p3 10. Because I now listen to every type of music and I now choose sound quality over just over-powering bass. But for the price this puppy is a beast. Also, after I couldnt blow this sub I gave it to my friend who put it in the back of his truck. The box barely fit in his 95 Nissan Pickup. But I could hear him coming about 20 seconds before he showed up to my house. Also he had two Audiobahn 12s in a sealed box in the back of his truck before I gave him my Kenwood and this thing was considerably louder than both the Audiobahns. It really is a great sub. The other people posting probably didnt have the right set-up. Now that I have written this post Iam thinking about trading in my P3 10 for this thing...but probably not. The P3 is a terrific sub, but my first Love was this kenwood sub.
