I put two of these 10" into my 2009 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab, and they sound great glad that I went with the 10's instead of the 12's, I feel that it may have been overload for the cab size. Plus I don't need a system to rattle the neighboring cars, I just wanted something that hit well. The best part is even with a song that is thumping pretty good it can be really loud in the cab but still pretty quiet outside the truck. That may be a negative for some who may want to show off but I don't. Here are my other components:
AMP - Kenwood KAC-8104D 1000-Watt Max Power Class D Mono Power Amplifier Head Unit - Kenwood KDC-HD942U Custom Sub Box built by [...] I had all these installed professionally by Showtime Audio in Chicago, IL.

Editing my original review. This thing died in 7 months with medium usage. The amp was a Kenwood 8105D so it definitely wasnt too much power. Oh well... sounded good while it was working. Gonna be replacing it with a JL 10W3V3.

For the price and quality I love Kenwood. Ive never had problems with any of their equipment and Ive owned a deck, amplifier and other subs. I would definitely get this item if you have a small car. I have a dodge stratus and two of these subs powered with a Kenwood KAC 9104 amp is more than enough to make these subs bump. I use them every day and listen to all types of music. They definitely sound great if you listen to any drum and bass or dubstep too which i love. The subs are very clean and clear with a great quality bump if you have a good box too. Definitely if your somewhat tight on a budget and want an excellent product go with Kenwood.

As the other guy said, mine blew out in 4 months. luckily I bought it from crutchfield which comes with a one year warranty and they exchanged it for free. Still, really dissapointed considering the gains were set properly and it only lasted 4 months..I'm sure the new ones are going to have the same fate too..

I installed this into my wife's car with a kenwood KAC-8105D Which has a 100 wat max on it, it was definetely not too much power for it. i was taking a 4 hour trip when it went out at the end of the trip. but while it worked it sounded great. i won't replace it with another kenwood.

I love this sub. It kicks hard and sounds great. I have it in a sealed box behind the back seat and have had no problems.

Built mine in a cutom box, and someone stole my amp. Origionally, it was a cheap 250w amp they stole, so I replaced it with a 1000w kenwood amp. Blew it in a week. Stunk bad too. Still plays, but I'm already shopping for a new sub. Don't try to make these sound like a 12, it's not. And it will blow, quickly. If big bass is what you want, keep lookin.

I guess you get what you pay for. It hit pretty hard and the sound quality was fine. It started to smell after 4 months or so and after 5 months, the voice coil fried and it stopped working. I wasn't really over driving it either. I had it hooked up to the Kenwood 8104D @ 300W RMS (matched to the sub). Replaced it with a kicker CVR and that's been working fine for over a year.
