4.0 out of 5 stars Pre-Bubble Tokyo disaster story, April 24, 2000
This review is from: Kenzo: A Tokyo Story (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was written over 15 years ago by an Australian. It describes a pre-bubble Tokyo, of homosexual and heterosexual relationships, the lurking fear of disaster, and eventually, it's aftermath.Although it is flawed in some places, with a choppy narrative, and seemingly incomplete characterisation, it should be regarded as a "Tokyo-novel".I enjoyed it, as I think it captured the essence of this city at a particular moment in it's history.

It has been unavailable for so long, I don't know how it will be able to fall into people's hands, but if you get the opportunity, you won't regret reading it.

It's a short, easy read.
